Married At First Sight groom Chris Robinson unveils incredible post-show transformation as he reveals the text he sent to Sam Stanton after their split

Chris Robinson, who appeared on the Nine Network’s Married At First Sight, has changed a lot since his unsuccessful search for love with Sam Stanton on the show.

The 38-year-old gym owner, who is expecting his second child, recently shared photos of his impressive physique after a competition.

He showed off his toned physique and gave fans a glimpse into his country lifestyle while posing on his farm in New South Wales.

In one photo, the reality TV groom displayed his tattoos and fit physique, sporting a pair of blue jeans.

He playfully dressed up as a cowboy, wading into a stream and briefly removing his clothes down to his underwear.

Other photos captured Chris looking comfortable and natural, like when he was getting out of his red truck. One picture even showed him walking his horse around his property.

Chris seems to be moving on and enjoying life after his experience on Married at First Sight. He recently shared with New Idea details of the text messages he and Sam exchanged after their difficult breakup on the show.

Although Sam and Chris broke up while living together during Homestays – after Sam felt Chris didn’t try hard enough to save their relationship – they’ve since become friendly with each other.

Okay, so get this – after we filmed the last Commitment Ceremony, Chris actually texted me! Can you believe it? I was seriously freaking out when I saw that notification. It was such a small thing, but it felt HUGE. I’ve been replaying it in my head ever since!

They ended by saying it had been a wonderful experience and thanked everyone for joining them, wishing them all the best. Thankfully, we’re on good terms, which is really positive.

Sam and Chris didn’t cause much drama on Married at First Sight, but their relationship was actually struggling and falling apart well before it became obvious to viewers.

Despite seeming friendly on camera, the relationship was actually falling apart due to a lack of communication, people becoming defensive, and a growing emotional distance. What started as small misunderstandings built up into significant frustration.

Both of the grooms talked openly after the show ended, admitting their relationship had problems and never fully recovered once those issues surfaced.

Sam recently told the Daily Mail that rewatching the show was a difficult experience, describing it as both frustrating and upsetting. He also revealed that one particular scene, which didn’t make the final cut, was especially painful for him.

He admitted he was deeply upset by the unreleased footage, saying it really bothered him.

The video shows Chris discussing Sam’s money and where they live, which Sam says is both painful and false.

He clarified that he never used coupons and, surprisingly, ended up spending more money than the other person. He also pointed out that he and his friend simply lived together, not in a typical shared living situation as was suggested.

Chris has since addressed the moment, admitting the remark was made in the heat of the moment.

‘It was just a silly, b***hy comment,’ he said.

But for Sam, the issue ran deeper than one offhand comment.

Although Sam and the other participant seemed to be connecting at first, Sam revealed that difficulties actually started right away.

I often felt like he didn’t let me finish my thoughts. If you review our first commitment ceremony, you’ll notice he did all the talking.

Even after bringing it up right away, the problem kept happening, and Sam found himself withdrawing more and more.

I remember the first time I tried to share my perspective – it didn’t go well at all. Honestly, it felt like he wasn’t even hearing me, he was so focused on how he was being perceived. It was incredibly frustrating – I just wanted to be understood, but he was too caught up in protecting his own image to really listen.

Chris has admitted he found those moments difficult, explaining that he tended to become defensive when confronted.

‘I don’t like that type of confrontation… it makes me get really defensive,’ he said.

Things escalated at a dinner party when their problems became public in front of everyone.

Chris said the experience was terrible and that he thought the problem had already been taken care of privately.

‘I did apologise in the apartments and thought we could move forward,’ he said.

But for Sam, the core issue had not been addressed – and raising it publicly was about being heard.

This change in how things were handled created a lasting problem, causing the conflict to keep reappearing instead of being fixed.

I heard Chris talk about how incredibly stressful filming was for him. It wasn’t just the pressures of the experiment itself, he was also dealing with a lot of personal stuff at the same time, which made everything even harder for him. It really explains a lot about what we saw on screen.

He explained he was under a lot of stress and felt overwhelmed. He admitted he wasn’t communicating well and wasn’t acting like his best self.

He acknowledged that he regretted how he dealt with some things in the past and has been working on improving himself since then.
