Clown in a Cornfield is this year’s must-see slasher movie: Watch the creepy new trailer

This summer’s unmissable horror film, titled “Clown in the Cornfield,” which is an adaptation of the 2020 novel by Adam Cesare, has recently unveiled a chilling new trailer on Shudder.

On May 9, the horror movie was premiered simultaneously in U.S. and U.K. cinemas. It’s been garnering impressive initial responses on Rotten Tomatoes, boasting an 92% approval rating based on 25 critic reviews so far.

The movie focuses on Quinn and her father as they relocate to the tranquil town of Kettle Springs in search of new beginnings. However, upon arrival, Quinn stumbles upon a divided community that has been struggling economically since the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory suffered a fire.

In the heart of Kettle Springs, as residents argue and emotions run high, an enigmatic, smirking character steps from the fields of corn, intent on relieving the town of its troubles, leaving a trail of gruesome casualties behind. Prepare for excitement as Frendo the clown makes his appearance!

In the horror movie, Eli Craig serves as the director. The main characters are played by Katie Douglas as Quinn and Aaron Abrams as her father, Dr Maybrook. Alongside them, we also see Carson MacCormac, Verity Marks, and Cassandra Potenza in the cast.

In the movie preview, Quinn gets acquainted with a band of neighborhood teens who swiftly share an eerie tale about their hometown folklore – a creepy clown named Frendo, famously depicted on Baypen syrup containers.

One of the teens pretends to be the character Killer Frendo, intending to frighten a new arrival, although their prank begins to take on a more serious edge.

In a chilling twist, a genuine terrifying clown appears hidden within a joke video, triggering a series of sinister events as the unidentified slayer targets the friends, one after another.

Quinn yells out, ‘Someone in a psycho’s costume, resembling Frendo, is trying to harm us!’ Just then, an amusing scene unfolds as they struggle to dial 911 on an old rotary telephone.

Clown in a Cornfield will be released in cinemas on May 9.
