BBC star rushed to hospital after drunk bike accident
BBC star Steve Stamp was rushed to hospital over the weekend after a drunken bike accident.
Yesterday, the actor, widely recognized for his roles in creating, writing, and portraying DJ Steves on People Just Do Nothing, took to Instagram to share that he had sought medical care following an unexpected incident.
Accompanying a picture of his arm in a cast and an inhaler nearby, Stamp penned down this message: “Kindly avoid cycling home while intoxicated using Lime bicycles.

In a humorous twist, Steve appeared to find amusement as he too posted a message from a fan who drew a parallel between his recent bike mishap and when his character was struck by a car on the show People Just Do Nothing, adding a grateful note: “Thanks for the thoughtful messages”. Furthermore, he shared a screenshot of the online articles discussing his accident, playfully referring to himself as an “absolute mess”.
The show “People Just Do Nothing” debuted on BBC Three back in 2014 and continued until 2018. During its broadcast, it moved to BBC Two. In 2021, a film titled “People Just Do Nothing: Big in Japan” was released as a follow-up.
Asim Chaudhry has taken on the character of Kurupt FM manager Chabuddy Wheeler several times since the series ended, one instance being a comedy sketch themed around Gladiators for this year’s Comic Relief event.
Simultaneously, Stamp took up a project called “Peacock,” a show centered around a fitness trainer grappling with an identity crisis after being passed over for a promotion by a more junior coworker.
Over the past two gaming sessions, I’ve been enjoying the company of Susan Wokoma, Lucien Laviscount, Sophia Di Martino, Jo Joyner, and Pippa Haywood on this captivating show.
You can stream “People Just Do Nothing”, the documentary “Kurupting the Industry”, as well as “Peacock” on BBC’s streaming platform, BBC iPlayer.
