Dynamite Entertainment clearly knows how to deliver on fan expectations, and this year proves it. Not only is the original series returning, but the equally beloved SilverHawks are also back – and finally teaming up!
For many who grew up with them, the Thundercats and SilverHawks were classic heroes. It’s great news for fans that these two groups are back with a brand new story!
Dynamite Entertainment is launching the first issue of ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks on April 8th. The series will be written by Ed Brisson, who has previously worked on titles like Avengers, X-Men, and Batman, and illustrated by Vincenzo Federici, known for his work on Firefly and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Armageddon Game.
The powerful sound of thunder echoes… then the battle cry rings out: ThunderCats! HOOOO! With wings of silver and unwavering courage, the SilverHawks soar!

Thundercats, SilverHawks Are Back and Together At Last

In a distant future, the lost team of ThunderCats is struggling to find a way back in time. Their mission: prevent a devastating war that threatens all ThunderCats. However, as their enemies grow stronger, the Thunderans on their besieged planet, Sixth Earth, are starting to fall apart under the strain.
Okay, so things are getting intense! Neko’s decided to go solo and try to take down the bad guys herself, which is pretty brave, but also kinda reckless. Meanwhile, the rest of us are gearing up for one last big push to grab the Thundrillium – we need that stuff to power our time travel. But here’s the kicker: we thought they were the biggest problem, but it turns out there’s something even more dangerous lurking in the shadows, something we’ve never dealt with before! Seriously, this is getting epic.

According to BleedingCoolNews, the ThunderCats X SilverHawks event will include three issues: Thundercats X SilverHawks by Shalvey, ThunderCats X SilverHawks: Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living #1 by Shalvey and Rapha Lobosco, and ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #1 by Ed Brisson and Vincenzo Federici.
An exciting incentive edition of the cover art by Ivan Tao will be available for ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #1, and it will be autographed by Larry Kenney – the original voice of Lion-O from the ThunderCats animated series! This is a perfect blast from the past, as both ThunderCats and SilverHawks are returning and ready to make a big impact.
