Lewis Capaldi Making a Comeback with New Music After Tourette’s Battle!
Lewis Capaldi‘s friend has provided an update on the musician’s health status and announced that he will be resuming his musical career following a break due to his struggles with Tourette’s syndrome.
In June 2023, following his performance at Glastonbury, Lewis decided to step back from public attention for a while to focus on his mental health, as he had been experiencing difficulties with his Tourette’s condition.
According to recent reports, there are rumors circulating that the well-known Scottish artist, aged 28, might return to the music scene in 2025. He has reportedly been discussing his upcoming album with some of his friends, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
In a recent conversation, Lewis’ friend Yungblud (age 27) shared that the artist is doing wonderfully well. Moreover, it was disclosed that new music from him is currently in the works.
Yungblud, a long-time friend of the artist behind “Someone You Loved,” revealed that Lewis is making progress with his mental wellness. Previously, Lewis had stated that his break was intended to address both his mental and physical health issues.
He shared with The Sun, “I’ve listened to his latest tunes and they sound fantastic. He seems to be taking good care of his mental well-being.

YungBlud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, stated: ‘I deeply care for him because we’ve been on this musical journey together. We’ve lived it simultaneously, and he might be the only friend who truly understands my struggles, just as I understand his.’
The artist behind the newly-released single “Hello Heaven, Hello” mentioned that he has a very close relationship with Lewis and shared that Lewis offered guidance on including a ballad in his upcoming album’s performance.
At the Glastonbury festival in 2023, Lewis returned to the stage after taking a three-week break for rest and rejuvenation due to some personal health matters.
After reappearing on stage, the vocalist confessed that he was extremely nervous, using the phrase “terrified” instead of “st scared”. He also shared details about his battles with mental health issues, and announced that following this performance, he would need some time off from the limelight.
During his performance, Lewis admitted he was battling with Tourette’s syndrome, explaining that his voice had given out due to persistent coughing during the event.
Tourette’s Syndrome is a neurological disorder that presents with repetitive, uncontrolled sounds (vocal tics) and movements (motor tics). This condition often leads to unusual patterns in speech or voice.
Tourette’s Syndrome is a neurological problem where people have unwanted, repeated sounds or movements called tics, which may impact their speech and the way they use their voice.
In spite of his challenges, Lewis persisted in performing, and his devoted audience gathered to support him. The event reached a moving conclusion when the audience serenaded him with “Someone You Love.”
Or:
Lewis pressed on with his performance despite facing difficulties, and his fans stood by him, cheering him on. The show ended poignantly as the crowd sang “Someone You Love” in his honor.
In a touching scene, Lewis strolled onto the Pyramid Stage and delivered snippets of his song, prompting the audience to cheer loudly and join in with their powerful voices, backing their beloved performer.

Following his performance, Lewis expressed on his social media platforms: “Although I knew this might not shock you, it doesn’t lessen the difficulty in expressing it.
Previously, I found every moment delightful during programs similar to this, and I had high hopes that a three-week break would help me rejuvenate.
To be honest, I’m still figuring out how to cope with the effects of Tourette’s, and on Saturday, it became clear that I need to invest significantly more effort into managing both my mental and physical wellbeing. This way, I can continue doing all the things I cherish for years to come.
I deeply apologize to those who were looking forward to attending the show by the end of the year. However, it’s essential for me to prioritize my health so that I can deliver the high-quality performance you all expect.
Performing for you each evening was always my deepest aspiration, making this choice one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make. However, I promise to return as quickly as possible.
Approximately half a year later on New Year’s Eve, Lewis informed his followers by saying: “I’m delighted to share that I’ve seen significant progress in both areas ever since I chose to take a break starting from June.

Currently, I plan to devote more time to self-care, potentially composing some music along the way, as well as pausing for a while to reminisce about the remarkable years that have passed in my life.
To double-check that I’m completely confident before diving back into performing more shows, as this is my greatest passion!
These tunes hold immense significance for me, and it would sadden me greatly if I couldn’t pass them on. Until we can gather and harmonize them live, I hope they bring you comfort!
As a die-hard admirer, let me share that Lewis expressed his gratitude towards us, the fans, expressing how our support has been an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Frankly, it’s fueled my excitement more than ever before, igniting a burning desire within me to get back to what I truly cherish – doing what I love – sooner rather than later!
