A sneak peek at Leonardo DiCaprio’s upcoming enigmatic film titled One Battle After Another has been unveiled by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Sean Penn, the movie, helmed by both director and screenwriter Paul Thomas Anderson, is set to premiere in theaters on the 26th of September.
Although the storyline remains largely unknown, the recently released trailer (which you can watch here) offers a sneak peek into what’s coming for fans.
At the outset, Leonardo DiCaprio is spotted taking a sip from a beer bottle. Sudden gunfire makes him jolt, revealing that he’s observing a heavily pregnant woman firing a weapon that resembles a machine gun.
The fast-paced, action-filled 20-second trailer carries on with various new characters making their appearance.
It appears the woman is having a child, prompting DiCaprio’s character with the question: “How will you handle this new arrival?
From what I’ve seen in the preview, it appears that an older version of me, or at least someone who looks like my childhood self, is shown mastering the use of a gun out in a grassy expanse, with individuals dressed in nun-like garb nearby.
As I stand over the game, my aged self adorned with a beard and long locks, Leonardo DiCaprio peers through his gun sight intently. Meanwhile, Joe’s character can be spotted forcefully hauling the terrified young woman off, her cries echoing in the virtual world.
“Just when you think you got a handle on things,” DiCaprio says and the clip ends.
Prior to its teaser reveal, not much was disclosed about the upcoming movie. Previously, Deadline had reported that it is set in modern times, marking director Paul Thomas Anderson’s most commercially-oriented project to date, complete with a substantial budget to match.
The video ends with a hint that the complete trailer will be unveiled next week, implying we could learn more about the storyline then.
One Battle After Another releases on September 26.
