In a recent interview, Sean Bean disclosed something that genuinely irked him regarding his latest BBC crime series titled “This City Is Ours“.
In the forthcoming Liverpool-based series, the actor from “Game of Thrones” will portray a character named Ronnie, who leads a gang. The story revolves around Ronnie’s friend Michael (played by James Nelson-Joyce), as he contemplates a future that lies beyond the realm of organized crime.
In conversation with the BBC, Bean openly shared his feelings about the project, stating that he found it immensely enjoyable. However, when the project concluded, he felt a sense of disappointment.

He stated that the series was among the most delightful ones he had participated in, and while many do express this sentiment upon completing a project, he sincerely felt he didn’t want it to conclude for him personally.
After leaving the stage, I was genuinely upset. However, there was also an overwhelming sense of fulfillment, as what we produced was groundbreaking television.
The actor emphasized his belief that it will be regarded as a timeless work of dramatic art in the future, describing it as both well-written and skillfully constructed.

In the first episode, everything presented carries over throughout episodes 1-8, hinted Bean playfully. Each character is so distinctly portrayed that working on the series was an absolute pleasure for me.
The series was developed by Stephen Butchard from ‘The Last Kingdom’, and it revolves around Michael who starts to develop feelings for a woman named Diana (portrayed by Hannah Onslow). For the first time in his existence, he perceives something beyond his daily routine, he envisions a future.
The narrative titled “This City is Ours” portrays the romantic journey of Michael and Diana amidst the decline of Michael’s criminal organization.
This City Is Ours will premiere on Sunday, March 23 at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
