The Replacement, which first aired on BBC One back in 2017, has been added to Netflix today.
In this three-act play categorized as a psychological suspense, the leading roles are played by fan-adored actresses from “Line of Duty,” Vicky McClure, and the previous main star of “The Bay,” Morven Christie.

Metro noted that McClure and Christie’s performances were spot-on, transitioning from a suspenseful Hitchcock style to the realm of crime comedies.
In simpler terms, The Times described it as a captivating soap opera reminiscent of Doctor Foster, while the Guardian called it an outrageously entertaining, intensely psychological drama that blends elements of reality with sheer madness. It’s incredibly hard to resist once you start watching.
The feedback from the audience was somewhat less positive, and one viewer even labeled the series as “disappointing.
Someone else commented that, while the story was captivating and filled with suspense for most of the episodes, they felt it lost its way dramatically in the last few scenes, plummeting like a fall off a cliff.
