Where is Sean Lowe’s dog Moose now? The family rehomed a previous dog, Gus, after a bite
Previously, Sean Lowe encountered an incident where his pet boxer, Moose, assaulted him just a week back. Prior to that occurrence, he had to find a new home for another rescued canine a few years prior, as the dog had bitten one of Sean’s children.
As a devoted dog lover and former lead on “The Bachelor” Season 17 (still married to my final rose recipient, Catherine Lowe), I shared an incident last week that happened at our Dallas home. We were enjoying a barbecue with friends when the smoke from the grill set off our house alarm. The loud siren and me waving a cloth to clear the smoke might have startled Moose, leading him to attack me unexpectedly. In the scuffle, he unfortunately caused some damage to one of my arms.

Sean Lowe, known from ‘The Bachelor’, endured two vicious attacks by the family’s Boxer following an extremely loud smoke alarm triggering a reaction in the dog’s mind.
Catherine, accompanied by her kids – eight-year-old Samuel, six-year-old Isaiah, and five-year-old Mia – were out buying things when the initial assault occurred. Sean mentioned that there was a security camera recording of the attack, but he found it too gruesome to disseminate.
The following day, as Lowe was in the front yard with his children and parents, planning a day out, Moose suddenly burst through the front door and launched another attack, this time sinking his teeth into Lowe’s other arm. Lowe recounted that he struggled to subdue the powerful and energetic boxer, managing to pin him down for a good 10 minutes until the police arrived.
In the recorded footage, it was evident that Lowe sustained injuries requiring a visit to the emergency room and stitching after two incidents. The marks left by these wounds on Lowe’s arms were noticeable even as they began to heal.
It’s evident from the video that Moose is no longer residing at the Lowe family house, but the specific circumstances surrounding his departure remain uncertain. Sean Lowe did not discuss euthanasia; instead, he expressed deep sadness about their pet’s absence.

In a candid conversation, Rachael Kirkconnell discusses her separation from ‘The Bachelor’ lead, Matt James. She shares that she was taken aback when he publicly announced their breakup via social media.
Following the initial assault, I immediately reached out to our local animal control. Luckily, I connected with an officer who happened to be a fellow boxer owner and was incredibly understanding. He encouraged me to make the calls I’d planned to our adoption agency and some no-kill shelters, promising to help sort things out together once I got back in touch with him.
Earlier on, the Lowes owned a rescue bull mastiff named Gus. In 2023, after Samuel, their son, attempted to approach him gently to pet, Gus snapped and bit him. It was noted that Gus had displayed signs of “resource guarding” and aggression towards daughter Mia before the incident. Following the bite, Samuel needed a hospital visit and ended up with a staple in his head, as reported by Page Six at the time.

Turns out Gus went to live with the Lowes’ dog trainer.

Kink and rough sex are at the heart of a rape case against an actor
Actor Gabriel Olds could be spending the rest of his life in prison, as alleged by prosecutors, for a series of alarming sexual attacks against his romantic partners.
At that time, Lowe wrote on Instagram, ‘He’s doing wonderfully.’ I long for him more than words can express, but one of my heartfelt wishes was fulfilled: he found an exceptional home (to me, the very best). My dog trainer requested to adopt him as her personal pet. Now, he goes to work every day and is surrounded by other dogs.
Regarding Moose, it’s unclear what will happen next; for now, there seems to be no definitive outcome. However, it appears that he hasn’t been euthanized.
Lowe stated that Moose was absolutely blameless, as it wasn’t Moose who was at fault. It seems evident to him that Moose had gone through a considerable amount of distress prior to our rescue.
Regardless of what transpired, I can’t help but say it sparked something profound within Moose – it was like the smoke alarm triggered a hidden switch in him. The folks from the animal adoption center shared with me they were clueless about the experiences in Moose’s past that could have resulted in this change.
Lowe expressed deep sadness, saying, “We’re feeling the pain of his absence.” He continued, “Truthfully, we do. Our beloved dog is gone, and we truly miss him. He was an exceptional pet, one that will be deeply missed.
