Unrecognizable TV Heartthrob Spotted with Grey Hair and Beard: Can You Guess Who?

An 80s and 90s heartthrob looked unrecognisable as he ran errands in Essex on Tueday.

A 61-year-old former actor, who gained popularity on a cherished soap opera four decades back, appeared cheerful while exiting a Marks & Spencer store.

On that particular day, the television personality chose an informal look, donning a relaxed fit light blue printed tee and matching it with a pair of denim pants.

Her also wrapped up in a blakc jacket and added to his look with a trendy pair of sunglasses.

The star stepped out 13 years after quitting TV to be a stay at home dad.

But can you guess who he is?

That’s right, it’s forme EastEnders and Heartbeat star Nick Berry.

Nick became well-known for his roles as Simon Wicks in EastEnders and Sergeant Nick Rowan in Heartbeat during the 1980s and 1990s.

Nick gained popularity through playing Simon Wicks on EastEnders and Sergeant Nick Rowan in Heartbeat from the 80s to the 90s.

60-year-old actor, who last appeared on TV at the funeral of his “EastEnders” co-star Pat Butcher in 2012, kept a modest profile during this public event.

Nick built an impressive acting career on British TV, yet at age 39, he decided to take a break from the screen to focus on raising his two sons.

Following his rise to prominence portraying Simon Wicks on EastEnders in 1985, Berry departed in 1990 and moved to the Yorkshire Dales for a six-year tenure as Sergeant Nick Rowan in Heartbeat. Subsequently, he assumed the part of Mike Nicholls, the harbour master, in Harbour Lights.

He gained iconic popularity, with throngs of enthusiastic fans swarming the BBC studios during the soap’s filming, creating a frenzy.

1986 also saw a short stint in the pop music industry for Berry: his single “Every Loser Wins” was one of the year’s top-selling records in the UK.

In 1986, Berry had a brief foray into the pop world when his single “Every Loser Wins” became the second most popular record in the UK that year.

During the run of the police drama “In Deep,” from 2001 to 2003, where he played police detective Liam Ketman opposite Stephen Tompkinson, Berry went out of public sight.

Instead of pursuing acting, he chose to be a home-based dad for his two children, Louis (age 29) and Finley (age 26).

It’s said that he was once proposed a lucrative “golden handcuff” contract worth £2 million by the officials at EastEnders when he decided to leave back in the late Eighties.

It is reported that he accumulated approximately £5 million during his time in the limelight – a sufficient sum to purchase a countryside villa in Epping, Essex, as well as a seaside home in Hove.

In an interview with the Daily Mail back in 2011, he expressed that he made the choice to become a home-based father and has thoroughly enjoyed this role.

‘I used to mention that I might return when the boys grew into teenagers, but it seems the longer one waits, the more challenging it becomes. To be honest, I haven’t felt much of a longing for it. While I wouldn’t rule out the possibility entirely, I must admit that I am genuinely content with my current state.’

The work experience was fantastic, offering constant transportation, regular meals, and clear instructions about tasks and locations. However, it presented a challenge due to the young age of my colleagues. The fact that I was frequently away for filming made me feel separated from my normal life…

Initially, I had the fortune of having these little ones, but I wasn’t truly present. It dawned on me that I yearned to be at home instead.

Despite his spectacular screen success, east London-born Berry said he wasn’t a natural actor.

He admitted that he wasn’t particularly at ease in the limelight. He also mentioned that some people’s egos are unnecessary. Furthermore, he observed that many actors tend to overvalue themselves, yet they’re primarily being compensated for entertaining others.
