After defeating Korea, Arslan Ash got emotional about Pakistani TEKKEN
As a dedicated gamer hailing from Pakistan, I’m proud to say that we held our own and rose above the challenges in TEKKEN 8’s Season 1. Our players proved their mettle and became amongst the elite!
In Seoul, Korea, there was an intense Tekken 8 showdown that took place from March 14 to March 16. This was a team competition between the two most powerful Tekken regions: Pakistan versus Korea. During the exhibition matches, Korea came out on top. However, in the competitive tournament, Pakistani players managed to secure more victories.
Following his triumph, the renowned TEKKEN 8 player, Arslan Ash, paused for a moment to discuss the common challenges Pakistani gamers encounter and surmount in their quest for improvement.
TEKKEN 8 Pakistan vs Korea
As TEKKEN World Tour 2025 is yet to commence at Evo Japan, a thrilling interregional duel unfolded between two elite esports teams. Hailing from Pakistan and South Korea respectively, these teams featured the world’s top-tier TEKKEN 8 players.
- Pakistan: Arslan Ash (he won T8 Evo 2024 this season), ATIF (CEO 2024 winner), Farzeen, THE JON, Numan Ch, Usama Abbasi, Hafiz Tanveer.
- Korea: Knee, Ulsan (the EWC 2024 winner), Rangchu (TWT 2024 champion), CBM, JeonDDing, Mulgold, Chanel, LowHigh.
The event continued for three days, including the exhibition matches. Here is the Final Day stream.
South Korean team triumphed in every one of their warm-up games. On the first day, Pakistani teams claimed victory in seven instances and suffered defeat three times. In the final day’s competition, Pakistani TEKKEN 8 players emerged victorious in thirteen out of twenty-two matches.
Indeed, it’s worth noting that Arslan Ash did not single-handedly carry his team to victory during the tournament. Quite the contrary, it was an impressive display of teamwork and individual performances that made this competition truly remarkable. Other players demonstrated exceptional skills in their matches, even those who may not have had numerous opportunities to play at the international level. This aspect of the tournament was emphasized by Arslan Ash himself following their victory.
Arslan Ash got somewhat emotional after the Team Pakistan victory
During a brief address, Arslan Ash discussed challenges Pakistani Tekken 8 players encounter while pursuing their esports careers.
Due to financial struggles, electricity problems, visa difficulties, and our passport being ranked among the bottom five globally, we’ve faced significant hardships that prevent us from traveling or participating in games. Since 2019, these economic challenges persist and are expected to continue until 2025. Lately, sponsors have withdrawn their support for players due to visa issues with some of them not having a USA visa.

Instead, the tale emphasizes the issues it encounters, not to dwell on them, but to underscore the genuine worth of Team Pakistan’s accomplishment.
Given our triumphs and the background we’ve overcome, I believe we have more than earned the chance to rejoice. Furthermore, we have the right to claim that, at the start of Season 1, we are unquestionably the best. We will continue to demonstrate this time and time again.

Post wrapping up the competition, I took to my socials to share a highlight reel, aiming to ignite the passion for esports within a fresh wave of gamers back home in Pakistan.
The performance of Pakistani competitors could serve as a powerful inspiration for individuals facing fewer hindrances when it comes to preparing for and competing in tournaments.
In just a short while, the new season and battlefield in Tekken 8 will commence. On April 3rd, Anna Williams is set to join the player roster. The initial Master tournament for the Tekken World Tour 2025 takes place at Evo Japan 2025 from May 9th through May 11th.
