Watches are often treasured keepsakes that celebrate important life events, and the past year was particularly memorable for Stephon Castle. As a guard for the San Antonio Spurs, Castle is known for his hard work and ability to play multiple positions. His commitment to basketball led to him being named the 2025 Rookie of the Year, an award he proudly accepted while wearing a striking watch.
Growing up, Castle admired the watches his father wore, and now he’s building his own collection to commemorate his achievements, both personally and professionally. He shared that a teammate once gifted the entire team special watches after winning a championship, and Castle is excited to continue adding to his collection. “Everything happened so quickly,” he said. “Last year was a turning point in my career. I’d dreamed about this since I was a kid, but I never imagined it would unfold this way. I’m incredibly grateful.”

I recently teamed up with Watches of Switzerland to look back at my career, and we did it by picking out three watches that represent different parts of my journey. The first one reminds me of when everything really started to click – my sophomore year and rookie era. The second represents where I am now in the league, and the third is all about where I want to go next, my future goals in the NBA.
For that first watch, I chose the Watches of Switzerland Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. It’s a modern take on a classic from 1978, with a really cool 40mm carbon case and black bezel. It’s super lightweight but can definitely handle anything I throw at it. Honestly, it reminds me of the watch I wore on draft night – a night I’ll never forget!

Miles Castle selected the Grand Seiko Elegance GMT from Watches of Switzerland as the watch that best represents his growth as a player. The classic and travel-friendly design fits his busy lifestyle. He explained that while his first year felt rushed, he now approaches the game with more focus and intention. The watch’s refined and subtle style reflects the calm and collected presence he now brings to every game.

Castle chose the Ulysse Nardin Freak S Enamel from Watches of Switzerland as his dream watch – a groundbreaking luxury timepiece that was the first to use silicone parts. He sees a parallel between the watch’s revolutionary technology and its unique, hands-free display, and his own ambition to make a big impact in basketball. “This watch embodies my future goals,” he said. “I’m aiming for many championships and a lot of success.”

Castle isn’t limiting his ambitions and hopes to be remembered as a truly unique player. He wants to achieve things no one else in the league has before. After a fantastic second season, he’s focused on winning championships and adding to his collection of luxury watches.
