2018 Academy Award winner, Cate Blanchett, who is currently promoting her latest spy thriller, “Black Bag,” has stepped away from her busy global press tour to express her strong dislike towards a frequently used backyard item.

In a recent viral interview with Subway Takes, the actor from Borderlands expressed his opinion that leaf blowers should be eliminated from our planet.

Every day, I can’t help but get swept up in the electrifying conversations unfolding on the American social media sensation, “Righteous New Yorkers.” It’s a thrill to witness fellow enthusiasts, sometimes even influencers and celebrities, express their bold opinions from the comfort of a New York subway seat. The city’s pulse is palpable in each passionate debate, making it an irresistible spectacle for this dedicated fan like me.

Before Cate joined host Kareem Rahma for a big reveal, her enthusiastic fans eagerly awaited the moment and shared their excitement in the comment section.

‘As a long-time Cate fan, I know she’s going to talk about leaf blowers,’ one commented.

It didn’t take much time before Cate passionately expressed her views, arguing that leaf blowers symbolize the flaws of humanity.

‘It’s the stupidity! It is a metaphor for what is wrong with us as a species,’ she said.

‘100 per cent agree,’ Kareem said.

‘I was in Miami the other day, I literally saw a guy blowing one leaf on the beach.’

‘They drive me nuts!’ Cate fumed.

In my experience as a lifestyle enthusiast, I find that life can be likened to maintaining a garden. We may diligently move debris from one end of our yard to the other, only for the wind to carry it right back. The key lies in understanding that while we can’t control everything, we can focus on tending to our own corner with care and patience, trusting that over time, the beauty will blossom.

‘Not only are leaf blowers ugly and they’re noise pollution, but your neighbours hate you!

1. ‘In essence, your actions only result in pushing the leaves onto your neighbor’s yard, which negatively impacts your relationship with them.’

2. ‘Ultimately, what you’re doing is simply moving the leaves to your neighbors’ property, and that’s not good for maintaining friendly relations.’

3. ‘In other words, by blowing the leaves onto your neighbor’s lawn, you’re damaging the quality of your relationship with them.’

4. ‘To put it another way, the act of moving leaves to your neighbor’s yard is detrimental to keeping a good rapport with them.’

5. ‘In summary, your action of blowing leaves onto your neighbors’ lawn is not beneficial for fostering a harmonious relationship between you two.’

6. ‘In short, by moving the leaves to your neighbor’s property, you’re creating problems in your relationship with them.’

7. ‘To make it clear, your actions of blowing leaves onto your neighbors’ lawn are not conducive to maintaining positive relations.’

8. ‘In brief, pushing the leaves onto your neighbor’s yard is not helpful for preserving a good relationship with them.’

9. ‘In conclusion, the act of moving leaves to your neighbor’s property is detrimental to building and maintaining a friendly relationship with them.’

10. ‘To phrase it differently, by blowing the leaves onto your neighbors’ lawn, you’re making it harder for both of you to have a good relationship.’

11. ‘In simpler terms, moving the leaves to your neighbor’s yard is not helping you maintain a positive connection with them.’

12. ‘To put it casually, blowing the leaves onto your neighbors’ lawn isn’t exactly doing wonders for your friendship.’

‘Whatever happened to rakes?’ Kareem chimed in.

Cate proposed, “Let your children help with raking the leaves instead. I can offer my kids $2 per hour, or even $3, as a way to keep them active and ensure they stay healthy.

‘Well they’re now 24 so they don’t listen to me anymore.’

‘Is this a problem in Australia?’ he asked her.

She expressed that my anger soared to an extraordinary level in Washington, D.C, a place that seems to have the greatest number of leaf blowers across the United States,” she clarified.

‘And they banned them.

A study conducted in the year 2010 revealed an interesting finding: Operating a leaf blower for just half an hour can produce more pollution than driving a pickup truck from Texas to Alaska. That’s quite astonishing, isn’t it? – 30 minutes!

‘It’s really bad, so they banned them in Washington.’

Kareem suggested leaf blowers should work more like vacuums.

‘Everything’s blowing, nothing’s sucking,’ Cate joked.

A multitude of followers of the web-series swarmed Kareem’s comment section to share with the amusing presenter that Cate has long expressed intense disdain towards a typical garden tool, which she has spoken about passionately for many years.

A viewer noted that she’s very passionate about disliking leaf blowers, as expressed in numerous interviews. This seems to be a deeply held personal cause for her.

A viewer mentioned that she has strong feelings against leaf blowers and made this clear in multiple interviews. It appears that this issue is a significant personal fight for her.

She deeply and perpetually dislikes leaf blowers, and I find that intriguing. (Another person commented this.)

As a dedicated lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve made it a point to express my strong dislike for those noisy leaf blowers, a sentiment I’ve held for quite some time now. This aversion was particularly evident in a captivating 2022 episode of Hot Ones, where I had the opportunity to share my thoughts on this topic.

The viewer happily pointed out that many YouTube compilations exist demonstrating Cate Blanchett’s strong disdain for leaf blowers.)

During a recent press tour for the movie “Black Bag,” where she was joined by her co-star Michael Fassbender, People magazine inquired about Cate’s feelings regarding her Subway Takes interview becoming widely popular this week.

‘They’re the most moronic invention,’ she added, launching a second attack on the garden tool.

As a devoted follower of environmental matters, let me express my strong feelings regarding leaf blowers. Frankly, they strike me as rather foolish contraptions. It’s not uncommon for the sight of someone using one to instantly elevate my pulse, as if I were experiencing a small spike in blood pressure.

Cate wasn’t surprised to learn that her latest rant had been heard around the world.

‘I talk about it all the time,’ she said coolly.

At the moment, Cate resides with her distinguished Australian playwright spouse, Andrew Upton, along with their four kids, in a six-million-dollar Victorian house located in Sussex, which is close to London. Meanwhile, they are working on refurbishing an upscale eco-home in Cornwall.

However, it’s common for this high-profile individual to reside in Sydney. In fact, from 2004 to 2013, she served as a co-director of the Sydney Theatre Company alongside Upton. This year, she is set to return to Australia to film The New Boy.
