Meghan Falls Foul of US Patent Rules
The Netflix series on lifestyle and cooking by her has sparked some heated discussions among critics, with one of them describing it as ‘extraordinarily ridiculous and trivial’, while my witty colleague Jan Moir humorously suggests that it appears to be for those who need instructions even to make an ice cube.
However, her deep affection for Meghan Markle has led her to divert attention from another project she is passionate about. This project, if successful, would enable followers to sample her jams or acquire items similar to those found in her £11 million Montecito residence, should they wish to do so.
I’m curious since it seems that the Duchess of Sussex, aged 43, has encountered another issue with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office once more.
It appears that the paperwork she submitted for trademarking ‘As Ever’, her chosen name for her upcoming lifestyle brand, has recently been accepted. This brand was initially planned to be named ‘American Riviera Orchard’ back in April.
The initial plan was abandoned when it became known that her application faced opposition from Harry & David, a significant U.S. company with yearly revenues of approximately £1.7 billion, who hold the trademark ‘Royal Riviera’.
Meghan went back to brainstorming ideas for her fledgling business, decided on the name ‘As Ever’, and began the process of registering that name as a trademark.
However, while her quick reaction was noteworthy, it may have compromised the clarity of her statement. The Trademark Office has requested that she provide clear definitions for certain items, such as ‘spoons used for serving jams and fruit preserves’, and that she should also categorize all goods and services by their respective international class numbers.
And, above all else, she must sign the document – without which it will not be ‘properly verified’.
In my expertise as a lifestyle consultant, I’ve found myself in a similar predicament as Meghan. Just like when trying to secure ‘The Tig’, the title of my old blog, and later with ‘Archetypes’, the name chosen for my podcast on Spotify, I too overlooked the crucial step of signing essential documents. It’s a reminder that even in the world of lifestyle, details matter!
Ronnie Wood’s wife Jo publishes debut book
For the past 24 years, she has been Ronnie Wood, the notorious Rolling Stones guitarist’s wife, living a life more vibrant and captivating than many fictional stories.
Despite being a former model, Jo Wood has chosen to release her first piece of fiction at the age of 70.
This year, Matthew James will publish “The Resurrection of Flo,” a captivating romantic fantasy novel.
The narrative is characterized as ‘honest, intriguing, and heartfelt,’ providing ‘personal’ insights into ex-Strictly Come Dancing competitor Jo’s genuine life events.

Big cat’s in the doghouse for nipping fashionista
A photoshoot at Howletts Wild Animal Park left its mark on fashion designer Alice Temperley.
It’s come to light that Saba, a cheetah, bit Victoria Aspinall. Since then, Saba has been freed in South Africa.
Regarding this image, Temperley mentions: ‘This photo was taken shortly before releasing Vix back into the wild. After a playful bite on my leg, Vix is seen here wearing one of our red tattoo dresses with the cheetah.’
She adds: ‘It did not hurt.’
The Kent Park is managed by Damian Aspinall, who used to be Victoria’s fiance. Robin Birley, the proprietor of Mayfair club, received permanent facial scars after being attacked by a tiger in that park at the age of 12. Compared to his experience, Alice had a relatively minor incident.

Mystery of Cherie and Euan’s £3million lettings firm
It seems that Tony Blair’s spouse, Cherie, along with their oldest child, Euan, have apparently disposed of their residential property management company, Oldbury Residential Ltd, a firm that manages over thirty apartments and homes located in the Northern part of England.
Recently disclosed records show that the two individuals previously held control over the company; however, their roles have been taken over by The Performance Property Group, an organization responsible for managing real estate investments for football players.
Oldbury held £3.3million worth of property, according to its last set of accounts.

King attends memorial to General Sir Mike Jackson
On Monday, King Charles joined approximately 700 individuals at the Royal Memorial Chapel in Sandhurst, where they gathered to honor the life of General Sir Mike Jackson, who passed away in October at the age of 80.
As a dedicated follower, I found myself stationed in Northern Ireland during my time with the Parachute Regiment, a regiment that His Royal Highness Charles became colonel-in-chief of in 1977. Tragically, two years after his appointment, our beloved Uncle Earl Mountbatten fell victim to an assassination by the IRA.
Sir Mike, being the head of the Army at that time, played a crucial role in making the decision concerning Charles’s sons’ potential service in Afghanistan.
He said of the late Queen: ‘She was very clear.
She said: ‘My grandsons have taken my shilling, therefore they must do their duty.’
It was determined that since William, being the heir to the heir, the danger was excessive for him. However, for his younger brother [Harry], the risk seemed tolerable.

My Family too complex to revive now, says Zoe
This week, Zoe Wanamaker, standing beside her artwork by Christine Youldon at The Mall Galleries in London, dismissed rumors about a possible comeback to her widely recognized character.
For over a decade, from 1998 to 2011, I’ve been utterly captivated by the brilliant actress who graced our screens in the iconic BBC sitcom, “My Family.” This remarkable series followed the daily lives of a white family residing in west London, and for 11 years, her performance was nothing short of extraordinary.
And her co-star Kris Marshall has called for it to be revived.
However, Wanamaker says: ‘My Family was about a nice middle-class family, and about relationships.
‘It was smart, ironic and funny. I don’t know what they would do now.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reflect on how challenging it would be to recreate the same narrative that captivated us back then. It seems to me that the essence and raw power of the original story might get lost in today’s world, diluted by the demands of modern storytelling.
The story revolved around familial relationships, encompassing parents, spouses, and their offspring. Needless to say, things have taken a turn for the unexpected.
Shame.

Rupert Everett looks back in regret
Rupert Everett is feeling guilty about being ‘manipulative’ towards former colleagues.
In a professional setting, there have been instances where I didn’t get along with someone and unintentionally acted in an unpleasant manner, acknowledges the 65-year-old actress renowned for her role in ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding.’
I’ve struggled with insecurity, which has led me to make mistakes such as deceiving others in the workplace, and I often found myself easily irritable towards people for no apparent reason.
In such instances, I tended to be rather cunning and didn’t fully realize the potency of my words.
Over the past summer, I was thrilled to announce my longtime partnership with Henrique, a skilled Brazilian accountant who has been a significant part of my private life for years.
