Sam Thompson Heartbroken as Ex Zara McDermott Moves on with Louis Tomlinson!

Sam Thompson was reportedly ‘blindsided and embarrassed’ when he found out that his ex Zara McDermott was dating Louis Tomlinson. 

The television personality who stars on Made In Chelsea, aged 32, ended his relationship with Love Island alumna Zara, aged 28, in December, and it appears she has since started a new romance with One Direction member Louis, aged 33.

Zara and Louis had a delightful romantic outing together during the weekend, as he surprised her with an overnight stay at a hotel.

Sam was taken aback when he learned that his ex-partner had already moved on with a famous boyband member. This came as a surprise to him.

A source told The Sun: ‘Sam is obviously devastated by the news, he was with Zara for years and the break-up has hit him hard.

‘He’s taking some time out to focus on himself – it’s completely blindsided and embarrassed him.’

They noted that he hadn’t anticipated Zara would recover so swiftly, and he’s yet to fully process the fallout from their separation.

The source said that Sam has been struggling with the break up and been focusing on work commitments as a distraction, as well as spending time with family and friends. 

News about Zara’s relationship with Louis has sparked renewed interest in her past relationships, revealing a recurring trend.

Sam is currently on holiday but was informed by Zara, 28, about her new relationship before it was made public – and he was seen smiling through the pain on Tuesday in an Instagram snap. 

Since her time on Love Island, Zara has experienced great success and even participated in Strictly Come Dancing. She has now established a career in producing documentaries.

But a source told The Sun that her real passion is music, something which will be known to fans after she competed on Celebrity X Factor. 

And her connection to Louis could serve as an in for her to make her mark on the music industry. 

‘She has consistently adapted herself throughout the years, willing to adjust her professional and personal life to advance further.’

Although she has made significant strides in modelling and television, her real love – music – has somewhat been put on hold.

By connecting with Louis, she could immerse herself deeply in music again and concentrate on her long-neglected passion.

Sam – who is said to be ‘humiliated’ by the news – has since made a cryptic remark about ‘people looking for validation in others’ as he insisted he is not ready to date again in an apparent dig at his ex-girlfriend.

Yet despite his heartache over Zara moving on so quickly, sources close to Sam exclusively told TopMob he holds no grudges against Louis over the new romance.

A source close to the star said: ‘Sam has no hard feelings towards Louis, that’s for sure.

‘As far as he’s concerned, Louis is Zara’s new man and he’s just got to accept it.

He has a optimistic outlook and plans to quickly put this situation behind him by focusing on his job and diving headfirst into the intriguing tasks ahead.

It’s clear that his heart was broken when their relationship ended, and as with many people, seeing an ex move on swiftly can be a challenging experience. If he felt both rage and despair in such circumstances, it wouldn’t surprise anyone.

‘But he’s not sitting around wallowing in self pity, far from it.’

Sam will come face-to-face with Louis when they will be teammates when England play the Rest of the World at this year’s Soccer Aid in June.

The source mentioned that when he encounters Louis at Soccer Aid, he will interact with him just as he would with any other teammate, as there is no lingering animosity between them.
