YouTube Star’s Sudden Death at 26 Leaves Fans and Investigators in Shock
YouTuber P2istheName’s death is still a mystery to investigators, days after he was found dead in his mailroom in Los Angeles on Friday.
Although the details surrounding his death remain scarce, TMZ reported that authorities ‘do not suspect foul play.’
According to law enforcement sources, the social media star (born Philip Enewally) reportedly ‘collapsed on the ground in front of mailboxes at his L.A. apartment building.’
Per the outlet, ‘the property manager discovered P2istheName and phoned 911, prompting police and paramedics to respond.’
While paramedics ‘performed life-saving measures’ on P2istheName, they were unable to ‘revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.’
At this time, his death is believed to have been from natural causes.
There were no immediate signs of drugs or alcohol on the scene.
TMZ’s sources also noted that Los Angeles County Coroner has conducted an autopsy and are awaiting toxicology results.
On Saturday, his mother confirmed his passing and asked for privacy as her family grieves.
She encouraged fans to visit his channel to honor his memory.
Following the news, fellow YouTuber COLETHEMAN paid tribute to Enewally on social media, remembering him as a generous friend.
My dear friend, P2istheName, sadly passed away… Wow, this leaves me speechless. He was consistently kind to me and provided valuable guidance on content creation. I hope he finds peace. This news has deeply saddened me.
P2istheName’s last YouTube video was uploaded about two weeks ago.
In a previous post, he mentioned plans to move from Los Angeles to Atlanta.
Notably, he also found success outside of YouTube with his clothing brand, DontMindUs.
Several of his videos showcased him personally packaging and shipping out merchandise to fans.
In several of his last posts from Los Angeles, he often visited mail rooms and shipping facilities, as he had entirely run out of stock due to selling everything he had.
Enewally gained a massive following through his NBA 2K and Fortnite gaming videos.
He later expanded into broader gaming content, including Let’s Play walkthroughs.
The star likewise gave insights into his personal life to his 4 million followers by posting various videos, such as one that provided a tour of ‘a day in the life of a young Black millionaire’ residing in Los Angeles.
In his most recent videos, he typically receives between 20,000 and 60,000 views. However, there have been instances where he garnered millions of viewers per video.
Over the past few months, he’s been candidly discussing feelings of being adrift on YouTube, revealing his battles with decreasing audience numbers and doubts concerning the future direction of his content.
Online enthusiasts expressed their affection and sympathy by posting messages such as, “He was a big part of my childhood, it’s hard to accept that this is true. May he find eternal peace.
Another shared, ‘Never been touched by a celebrity’s death like this one.’
Yet another simply posted, ‘rip to a youtube legend.’
Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances of his death.
