David Kramer to become UTA chief, replacing Jeremy Zimmer
The longtime head of one of Hollywood’s most prominent talent agencies is passing the baton.
66-year-old Jeremy Zimmer is relinquishing his role as CEO at the talent agency based in Beverly Hills, United Talent Agency (UTA). His position will be taken over by David Kramer, a long-standing UTA member, who has been promoted from president.
The transition has been long in the works, with Kramer, 56, as Zimmer’s chosen successor for years.

United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer is pushing for streamers to share more of their revenue with actors, writers and other talent. The push comes as the entertainment industry, including UTA, evolves.
In 2012, Zimmer was appointed as CEO, and he’ll continue to serve until the end of this year in the role of Executive Chairman, assisting with the process of passing leadership responsibilities.
Zimmer expressed that his 35-year tenure at UTA has been immensely gratifying. He also mentioned that even though change can be difficult, he finds this specific point in time to be particularly fitting.
Under Zimmer, UTA grew from its status as a small literary agency into expanding its representation business to include musicians, athletes, authors and digital content creators. As streaming changed the way talent was paid, he was a vocal advocate for getting artists better deals.
The talent agency business has changed dramatically over the years. Ari Emanuel’s Endeavor evolved into a conglomerate with multiple lines of businesses, while Creative Artists Agency acquired ICM.
UTA’s business has remained primarily representing talent.
In the year 2022, Kramer ascended to the position of president at UTA. His professional journey with this agency started humbly in the mailroom, and later, he transitioned to the motion picture department.
