This summer, the Esports World Cup 2025 event will happen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. VALORANT, League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics joined the Esports World Cup in a three-year partnership with Riot Games to make this happen. Let’s look into the format, the official schedule, and more information about the competition. Here is the countdown of the VALORANT Esports World Cup in case you don’t want to miss the event.

VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025 schedule

The competition will occur between July 8 and July 13. It will start with the Group Stage featuring 16 teams. Here is the schedule of each phase of the tournament.

Format

On the opening day of the preliminary round, a total of 12 games are scheduled. The groups have not been decided yet. In the second and third rounds, there will be 4 games each to determine the eight teams that advance to the playoffs. After that, these teams will compete in elimination matches until only two remain, who will then move on to the Grand Finals.

There is still no information about the prize pool for the event. Only League of Legends has had a $2 million prize pool announced. As for the participating teams, they have yet to be announced by the organizers.

Other games

You can expect the return of many known games from last year’s event, including Overwatch 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, and Apex Legends. Chess, VALORANT, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, CrossFire, and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves are some of the surprise games joining the competition in 2025.
