Sotheby’s Is Auctioning Kobe Bryant’s 30K Point Milestone Nike Kobe 7

On December 5, 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers played agains the New Orleans Hornets and Kobe Bryant cemented himself as one of the greats, making history by becoming the youngest player to ever reach 30,000 career points. He surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s record at just 34 years and 104 days old, joining NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. At that time, he was only one of five players to reach the 30K points milestone. Now, players like Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James and Kevin Durant have also reached the 30K mark, though Bryant remains second-youngest to ever arrive at that achievement with just LBJ ahead.

During that game, he wore a pair of Nike Kobe 7 PEs in a grey and purple colorway. The sneakers from this legendary night have been inscribed with Bryant’s signature as well as the text, “30K 12-5-12,” in his handwriting. Sotheby’s is bringing the historical moment to auction and the shoe is expected to sell between $200,000 USD and $300,000 USD. The auction lot also features a PSA 9 MINT-graded game ticket, a program and a DVD of the historic game.

The game-worn and signed Nike Kobe 7 30K-Point Game PE is set to be available for view at Sotheby’s New York on March 21 before the bidding concludes on March 25. For more information, check out Sotheby’s.
