Dave Grohl’s Love Child Scandal Rocks Marriage to Wife Jordyn Blum

They’ve been keeping a low profile ever since his love-child scandal came to light in late 2024.

But Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum put on smiling faces when they were spotted on a rare public outing near Los Angeles on Sunday.

They were pictured in Glendale as they appeared to meet up with a friend for a lunch date.

Despite their apparent chumminess, neither Dave nor Jordyn appeared to be wearing wedding rings. 

Six months following the announcement by the Nirvana drummer about the birth of a child outside of his marriage, they were observed in public together.

Although the Foo Fighters frontman’s wife was reported to be intensely hurt by the infidelity, the two have so far not separated and are reportedly ‘working things out.’

Dave kept things casual in a nondescript black sweatshirt paired with charcoal cargo shorts and black-and-white leather trainers.

He rolled his sleeves up to show off his tattooed arms, and he wore stylish round-frame horn-rimmed glasses and a black baseball cap with a circular design on the front.

Jordyn looked similarly casual in a matching black sweatshirt with green Adidas track pants and black Adidas trainers.

She accessorized with a burgundy quilted handbag and a black leather that she carried in her arms, and she wore her wavy platinum blond hair down to frame her chunky black cat-eye sunglasses

Last month, the mother of Dave’s lovechild was finally revealed.

Jennifer Young, a 38-year-old LA-based, Florida-born rock-and-roll fan, 38, was confirmed to be the mother of his child he fathered out of wedlock, Page Six reported.  

Jennifer additionally verified to the media source that her child was delivered on August 1, 2024, and indicated that Dave’s surname appears on the birth certificate.

Jennifer preferred not to disclose her daughter’s name, stating to the media that “there are some very agitated fans,” emphasizing the significance of maintaining her privacy.

In Los Angeles, she resides with her mom, and frequently accompanies their little girl on strolls around their local area.

Jennifer sports a number of tattoos – including ones featuring Paul McCartney lyrics and the rock band Metallica’s band logo. 

DailyMail.com has reached out to Dave’s representatives for comment.

She reportedly visited New York City over Valentine’s weekend — the same weekend Dave was in the Big Apple for the Saturday Night Live 50 years anniversary special — however, Page Six reported that it is unknown if they met up. 

It is also unclear how they first met. 

Page Six noted that she does not have a public social media account and her current occupation is also unknown.

In the past, she’s delved into writing and was part of the team that developed the Cannibal comic book series. This fact has been acknowledged by League Of Comic Geeks, who credit her as one of the writers in this project.

Young also attended UCLA and received her Master’s degree in the university’s Producers Program.

Back in 2021, she opened up about her passion for ‘storytelling’ during an interview with Voyage LA. 

‘I wrote a comic book that was published with Image Comics and turned it into a pilot that is currently in development,’ she said at the time, while also discussing her love for the horror genre. 

Jennifer eventually went on to work on Eli Roth’s History Of Horror series (2018-2021) for AMC as an assistant to the showrunner and was later promoted to an associate producer. 

‘I’ve never had more fun working on a project in my entire life and I was fortunate enough to work on another season of that show,’ she shared. 

Jennifer also expressed to the outlet, ‘I assist Directors and Producers in the development and production of film and television.’ 

She also enjoys, ‘making some short films and writing my own scripts that I would like to direct — hoping that all this shadowing will put me in the right position for the job.’ 

She was pictured by Page Six taking her baby for a stroll, with the child wearing a cranial helmet with rock band stickers on it for artists including Led Zepplin, Metallica and Elvis Presley.

A cranial helmet is used when a baby’s skull shape has to be corrected. 

Dave, who shares three daughters with Jordyn, had revealed he was fighting to regain his family’s trust in his shocking September baby announcement post. 

On September 10, Dave took to his social media to announce in a statement that he had welcomed a daughter while vowing to try to ‘regain [the] trust’ of his wife and their daughters. 

He said in his statement on Instagram: ‘I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.’ 

Adding: ‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.’

‘We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,’ he concluded.

He did not share any information on the mother of his fourth child.

Dave has been married to Jordyn since 2003, after they dating for two years.

Dave was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood – from 1994 until they separated in 1996, divorcing in 1997 after allegedly cheating on her, according to The Guardian.

In October 2024, a People magazine insider noted that the whole situation has been ‘rough’ for Jordyn.

They mentioned that her thoughts seem preoccupied with other matters, not her marriage. The reason being, she doesn’t have faith in Dave. This is evident as she isn’t wearing her wedding ring.

Adding that Jordyn is ‘focused on her own life and her girls.’ 

A source told People magazine in November 2024 that the rocker is focused on working things out with her and their daughters, and that divorce is off the table.

The source said: ‘He’s no longer working with a divorce attorney and instead hoping to work things out with his wife.’

A source close to the matter mentioned that he deeply cherishes his family, emphasizing that he has been putting them first recently. He acknowledges his mistakes and finds himself in a situation where one doesn’t truly appreciate what they have until they stand to lose it – in this case, his family. He is determined not to let go of his family.

Multiple sources have claimed that Jordyn has known about the baby ‘for a while,’ and said she is a ‘great mom and very dedicated to their daughters.’

Jordyn and Dave shared daughters Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

Dave and Jordyn were seen together in February for the first time since his shocking cheating and baby news. 

They were seen in the car together, after Jordyn picked him up from an LA area home. Neither appeared to be wearing wedding rings at the time.
