MAFS Star Reveals Shocking Pay: Less Than Minimum Wage for Reality TV!

Married At First Sight’s Jacqui Burfoot has shocked fans after claiming the cast got paid a pittance to appear on the show. 

On Sunday, the much-discussed bride, aged 29, used Instagram to respond to several queries from her followers about various topics.

One of the questions read: ‘What was the pay per day rate like being on the show?’

The reality star went on to allege that despite long days of filming and the many months spent on the show the cast were paid the bare minimum.

‘It wasn’t much,’ she wrote on her story. ‘About $150/day. I can’t remember exactly.

‘It was basically min wage, and much less than most people’s income.’

On previous occasions, Jacqui has uncovered the harsh truth about the series by posting on Instagram last week, revealing the basic living circumstances that contestants must face during filming breaks.

The television personality posted a brief video snippet, which captured the cast enjoying a break from shooting at a warehouse located in Sydney.

During one of the series’ dinner gatherings, a scene was captured where guests were dispersed across an apparently deserted space.

In a scene that would not look out of place on Aussie prison drama Wentworth, the room featured a bare concrete floor, harsh fluorescent lighting and coverings on the windows to deter potential voyeurs.

Carina Mirabile was spotted lounging on a black, plastic seat, enveloped by a vibrant purple cloak.

Since Married At First Sight filming happens from June to September, it’s understandable that Carina wants to stay warm, as the show is filmed in the Australian winter, which runs from July to September.

While Jacqui swept her camera across the disheartening landscape, Paul Antoine and Adrian Araouzou exchanged a jovial remark with a crew member.

Another individual, who looked like Dave Hand, was spotted sitting with his face in his hands while he waited to start filming.

I, as a devoted admirer, found myself stationed in a secluded spot, crouching alongside another individual, likely a fellow producer, scrutinizing the spectacle around us.

Captioning the surprising video, Jacqui claimed that the cast were separated an not allowed to fraternise between takes.

‘What it was like backstage at MAFS,’ Jacqui wrote.

‘We’d be separated and sat like this. Not allowed to talk.’
