Fans Outraged Over Love Island Star’s Over-the-Top Girlfriend Proposal!

Love Island UK star Luca Bish has been slammed after revealing the very extravagant way he asked his partner to be his girlfriend.

The television personality posted a collection of images on Instagram showing an extravagant beach scene he arranged while vacationing in Abu Dhabi.

The setup included a path lined with roses on the beach, and at the end of this pathway stood a glowing neon sign displaying the question, ‘Will you be my girlfriend?’ This is one way to phrase the scenario in natural and easy-to-read language.

Luca also arranged a romantic candlelight dinner for his girlfriend Grace Jackson.

Yet, many enthusiasts took to social media to criticize the extravagant staging of the reality star following the post being uploaded to the Outspoken podcast’s Instagram account, with some comments suggesting it was too excessive.

‘This would give me the ick,’ one person wrote.

‘I can’t imagine anything worse honestly,’ a second commented while another agreed: ‘Cringe as.’

‘What a load of crap! Cringe cringe cringe,’ one person added while another said: ‘I can’t imagine anything worse honestly.’

As a die-hard admirer, let me say that Grace and Luca have left no doubt in my mind about the authenticity of their bond. When ex-Islander Olivia Hawkins hinted at Grace’s supposed pursuit of a ‘showmance’, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. These two lovebirds have shown time and again that their connection goes beyond the confines of Love Island, and I can’t wait to see where their relationship takes them next!

Last month, the couple shared what life has been like since leaving the villa.

On the Wednesday podcast with Melissa Tattam and Sophie Habboo, Luca mentioned that he had dinner with his mother and sister the day they arrived, and last night he dined with her two closest friends.

‘The important thing for us is just introducing everyone, and yeah, integrating everything.’

In a heartfelt conversation elsewhere, Luca and Grace shared their past encounters with public harassment, expressing their initial doubts about participating in the show again.

During his first stint on the show, Luca was accused of misogyny and ‘controlling behaviour’ towards Michael Owen’s daughter, then 19, with viewers even complaining to broadcasting regulatory authority Ofcom.

After they returned to the UK he apologised for some of his actions and revealed he ‘didn’t recognise himself’ when looking back at himself on TV.

At that point, Luca found himself pondering whether it was safe to go back, as his family and him had been targeted with threatening messages.

He explained: ‘After Vegas night when me and Scott had our row, as much as I was sorry to Tina and I shouldn’t have reacted in the way I did, all I thought about was the abuse my family were getting and how I couldn’t speak to them because of what they’ve been through before.

‘And I was like, I’ve ruined it, they’re gonna get so much stick. All I kept saying to production was, I’m so scared for my family.

To Grace, I couldn’t help but express my concern: “I’ve been repeating this over and over again, it was all about shielding my mom and sister from the consequences of your mistakes in that courtroom. You know how harshly the public can react when they believe someone has made a mistake, especially if it’s something serious.

‘There was a lot of stick last time, and obviously death threats, which I think is nuts for a TV show. And I know people get invested, but it’s crazy. Like saying they’re going to chop my sister’s head off and rape her, it was crazy.

‘House got robbed, smashed through the back when no one was there. And that all just goes through your head when you’re in there. This is why the first week I was just so scared.’

Grace said: ‘I feel like they’re 10 times harder on you, aren’t they? We know it’s what it’s like.’
