NCIS star Michael Weatherly teases exciting update for Tony & Ziva
NCIS star Michael Weatherly has teased an exciting update for his spin-off show Tony & Ziva.
The actor played Tony DiNozzo on the original procedural drama, before leaving in the season 13 finale. He later appeared in season 17, to reunite with his partner Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) who had previously been presumed dead.
Previously, it became known that Tony and Ziva would make a comeback on our screens, starring in a separate series taking place in France. In this show, we find them evading capture as they traverse various European cities, following an assault on Tony’s security firm.
In a recent update on social media, Weatherly announced that the new episodes are about to be released, hinting that they finished filming last month.
At last! Finishing Season 1 of NCIS: Tony & Ziva. What a great show and I’m really loving it! Here I am, relaxing in my bath tub after watching it.” He posted this on Twitter/X along with a picture of himself enjoying his bath.
“Exciting times. We can’t wait to see the magic you’ve created,” another wrote, while a third echoed: “Can’t wait!!! Thank you & Cote! … Haven’t got season one yet and I already can’t wait for season 2! Lol.”
The spin-off, consisting of ten episodes, is set to be released on Paramount+ this year. In these episodes, fans will get a glimpse into the lives of Tony and Ziva as they take on the role of parents to their daughter Tali (Isla Gie).
Meanwhile, Tony & Ziva will also welcome Downton Abbey star Julian Ovenden, Oppenheimer‘s James D’Arcy, Shadow and Bone actor Amita Suman, The Watch‘s Lara Rossi, Emily in Paris star Nassima Benchicou, Coronation Street‘s Terence Maynard, and Ted Lasso actor Maximilian Osinski to its cast.
NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
