Eamonn Holmes’ Shocking Health Update Leaves Fans Heartbroken and Concerned!
On Friday, Eamonn Holmes shared an Instagram post that left people worried due to its distressing health update.
Following a back operation due to a herniated disc in 2022, the well-known television figure, now aged 65, has found it difficult to walk without assistance and frequently uses a walking aid such as a frame or wheelchair.
Last January, he expressed the possibility that he might not be able to walk unassisted ever again, emphasizing the challenging truth of the situation.
On social media, Eamonn has shared that his condition hasn’t improved and he continues to experience significant discomfort.
Accompanying a photo of himself inside a vehicle, donning a black coat, the GB News presenter remarked, “The brightness of The Sun can’t always chase away pain. There are times when I worry that this immobilizing disc condition won’t improve, but I remain resolute in my pursuit of living life to the fullest.
‘So pray for me, help me or get out of the way Social Media haters.’

After Eamonn required assistance with a walker, he participated in the funeral procession for soccer player Denis Law from Manchester United.
Last month, a Northern Irish broadcaster was part of the group who visited Manchester to express their condolences for the passing of the Scottish striker, who had died in January at the age of 84.
Back in 2016, I found myself facing a long-awaited and significant milestone: a triple-hour double-hip replacement surgery. For years, I’d been grappling with persistent, agonizing pain – but finally, it was time to take action and prioritize my health.
At the moment of discussing his surgery, Eamonn mentioned that he wasn’t anxious because it felt similar to being on live TV. However, beforehand, he did feel tense, questioning whether he could pull it off and if he would manage well.
The previous evening took an unusual turn as individuals began showering me with accolades: “Eamonn, your performance was exceptional, and I’ll never forget the times you shone.” It felt akin to experiencing death yet still being alive.
Two years later, he encountered an entirely new health challenge when he was unexpectedly stricken with shingles, posing a potential disruption to his son Declan’s wedding ceremony.
In a chat on Loose Women back in September 2021, he opened up about the health struggle that forced him to step away from This Morning three years previously.
He also shared images of his puffy face covered in marks and scabs during his battle.
In 2021, Eamonn’s chronic back pain had begun and it seemingly came completely of the blue.
Due to the intense discomfort, Eamonn became dependent on a cane for mobility, yet he managed to uncover the underlying reason behind it.
He eventually discovered it was three slipped discs that affected the movement of his right leg.
Back in December 2021, Eamonn openly shared with The Sun about the challenges he faced due to a compressed sciatic nerve, which required assistance from his family for daily chores.
Reflecting on this past year, I must confess it’s been quite a challenge. For extended periods, my mobility issues have left me unable to walk at times, and this struggle has not only affected me but also those closest to me. It’s been a tough journey, but I remain hopeful for brighter days ahead.
Due to my inability to stoop, it often falls upon Ruth Langsford to assist me with tasks like picking things up. I’m aware that my sons may feel a bit awkward about the way I move.
Last September, I found myself compelled to take a break from my GB News show due to an urgent requirement for back surgery aimed at alleviating my long-standing back ache.
Or, more casually:
In September 2022, I had to take some time off from GB News because I needed emergency back surgery to deal with chronic pain.
His battle with chronic back pain started after a dislocated pelvis led to three slipped discs.
After undergoing surgery, he disclosed that even with physical therapy, his limited mobility still hinders him from performing basic tasks. As a result, he’s compelled to depend on others, a situation he referred to as “crushing to the soul.
This afternoon, he posted on the platform previously recognized as Twitter: “I put in a lot of effort at my physical therapy session this morning, it was quite exhausting. However, since then, I’ve been sitting on my behind for five hours and now I feel guilty about not being productive.
As a lifestyle expert, I find myself often reflecting on the importance of independence and mobility. It’s disheartening when I can’t perform everyday tasks without assistance. To regain my tranquility, it seems like another round of foot exercises is in order.
After his spinal operation, he also experienced weakness in his left leg. Less than three weeks post-surgery, Eamonn accidentally tumbled down 18 steps at his Weybridge residence, landing hard on a stone floor below.
The severe accident almost claimed his life, but instead, he suffered a broken shoulder and his legs grew weaker as a result.
Previously, the host of This Morning openly acknowledged that breaking his shoulder in a fall was a significant obstacle.
Eamonn shared with GB News that he had fractured his shoulder in a fall, stating it was a significant blow requiring him to take additional time to recover properly.
Over the past couple of weeks, things have been quite challenging, but step by step, I’m getting better. I’m keeping my spirits high and focusing on finding the silver lining in each situation.
In September 2023, approximately a year following his spinal surgery, Eamonn opted for a stretching process on his spine and neck due to his inability to walk.
As a die-hard fan, I’d have to put it this way: Ever since Eamonn underwent that back surgery, I’ve been feeling his pain. You know, the kind where you’re left saying, “I’m stuck on the couch, unable to run or even walk properly. All I can do is flip through channels and snack my worries away.
Last year, I suffered some issues with my back that I still haven’t fully recovered from. To be honest, it’s not great, it’s definitely not something that’s beneficial for me.
Back in chilly December, I, a die-hard fan, found myself captivated during Eamonn’s Breakfast show segment where he opened up about his reliance on a wheelchair. Even more intriguing was the cautionary Christmas travel advisory he shared, making me eagerly await his future appearances.
During the holiday season, trains were presented as an option for people returning home, and Eamonn confessed something quite sorrowful.
He mentioned: ‘Perhaps the train is just a dream, but as it stands, I find myself in a wheelchair, heavily dependent on others for assistance to board and alight. This task is extremely challenging.’
‘I just threw that in… it’s not a concern to anybody, but there we go.
Recognizing his predicament, Isabel Webster empathically noted: “Indeed, many others in similar circumstances can relate to your situation, Eamonn.

A week ago, the previous host of This Morning had a heartwarming reunion with his former rival Anthea Turner. They shared a delightful photo on Instagram following the resolution of their decade-long disagreement.
During their tenure at GMTV in the ’90s, the partnership between them deteriorated significantly and eventually reached a breaking point when Eamonn presented his superiors with an ultimatum, leading to Anthea leaving the program.
In the year 2005, my estranged relationship found its way back to harmony, leading us to share a spotlight once more on the popular morning talk show, “This Morning.” I was fortunate enough to appear alongside my former partner and the program’s host, Ruth Langsford, in 2018.
(In this context, ‘they’ refers to the estranged couple, and I am representing a lifestyle expert sharing information about them.)
In a friendly social media picture, the two seemed inseparable, smiling broadly at the camera. Eamonn playfully placed a hand on his old workmate’s shoulder.
Previously known as the host of “This Morning,” the individual wrote in their post, “At our shared age with careers roughly the same span, it seems my newspaper delivery route was more challenging than Anthea Turner’s! Kudos to the Top Woman!
