Real-Life Magic Mike: How Two Former Strippers are Revolutionizing Sydney’s Nightlife
The nightlife in Sydney is set for a dramatic change with two ex-entertainers planning to introduce an exceptional party experience to the city by the harbor.
Get acquainted with Charlie Welham and his close friend Marcus, who are the creative minds behind “Magic Deck” – a comprehensive, exhilarating cruise offering a multitude of activities designed to deliver unforgettable entertainment, opulence, and continuous amusement.
Having accumulated extensive years on the entertainment scene as male performers, this dynamic pair has transitioned from the stage to the corporate world, constructing a business model that revolutionizes the way women experience evening entertainment.
And if early reactions are anything to go by, they’re onto something big.
Charlie and Marcus have plenty of experience when it comes to keeping an audience entertained, seeing as they’ve spent numerous years working as striptease artists and entertainers within this field.
However, realizing a void in Sydney’s nightlife offerings, they chose to create a stir by introducing an immersive, high-end party experience on a lavish cruise ship instead.

Marcus shared that he realized the key element that was lacking. Women desired more than just an evening out; they sought thrill, vivacity, and a unique experience they’d cherish forever. Our aim was to design such an experience with Magic Deck.
He stated, ‘There seems to be a gap within the entire sector. Women are seeking thrill, sensuality, and fun that is also secure and empowering. Precisely what we provide is what they desire.’
Charlie’s journey into the industry was just as unexpected.
At the age of 22, in the prime of my single years, I encountered a man in the park who approached me and remarked, “You have an attractive appearance; have you ever considered entering the world of entertainment, specifically aimed at males?
Initially, I was completely clueless about it, but I decided to take a chance anyway. This unexpected move eventually landed me opportunities to work at exclusive events, such as bachelorette parties, which eventually sparked the concept of Magic Deck.
Swap out seedy nightclubs and strict curfews, as Magic Deck introduces a vibrant European-inspired party atmosphere right on the water.
Passengers embark on an opulent watercraft for a three-hour sailing trip around Sydney Harbor, enjoying spectacular shows, playful activities, and a disc jockey playing the latest R&B hits.
Charlie stated: ‘Sydney’s nightlife pales in comparison to cities such as the UK, Spain, and Greece. Clubs close early, you end up drinking excessively and being thrown out, there’s no genuine thrill. We’re transforming that. Magic Deck is where the true celebration happens now.’
Marcus commented, “For quite some time, people haven’t been socializing as usual due to lockdowns. Now, they’re seeking something fresh. We’re providing an incentive for them to venture out once more.

Ever since its debut, each event has been completely sold out, drawing women from places like Newcastle and Melbourne specifically to attend the performance.
Instead of merely observing a performance, it transforms into an all-encompassing theatrical extravaganza, offering limitless beverages, a sumptuous feast, four skilled male performers, attractive servers without shirts, and an ambiance that outshines anything Sydney has previously encountered.
And it’s not just the performances that have guests coming back for more.
Marcus mentioned: ‘We engage the audience with games like lap dances and the orgasm game, along with various unexpected elements. Our goal isn’t to have people merely watching from their seats; instead, we ensure they become an integral part of the performance.’
Charlie mentioned, ‘Women are often attracted to men in uniform, particularly policemen. When you walk in with your uniform on, it’s essentially the end of the game for them.’
Although Charlie and Marcus no longer perform as strippers themselves, they continue to play active roles – meticulously supervising all aspects, coaching their staff, and maintaining an atmosphere that’s both seductive and refined.
In simpler terms, Marcus suggests that it’s essential to maintain a sense of intrigue when interacting with women. He emphasizes that charisma, rather than mere appearance, plays a significant role. Merely showing up doesn’t guarantee interest; instead, one should aim to provide an engaging and memorable experience.
Charlie concurred, stating that confidence truly makes all the difference. He admitted he didn’t used to be so self-assured, but as one embarks on personal growth, transformation becomes evident. It isn’t merely about physical appearance; it’s about projecting oneself with poise and self-assurance.

And for those wondering, there are rules in place to make sure everything stays respectful and fun.
Charlie explained, “It’s important to keep things respectful and within bounds. Our goal is for women to feel strong and enjoy themselves, and that’s exactly what we strive to provide.
Marcus added, ‘You can’t grab the magic d***! You have to respect the performers, too.’
Charlie and Marcus don’t just share a professional bond; they are long-time friends who first crossed paths within their line of work.
Throughout the years, our connection has led me on a global journey, from Dubai to the vibrant Philippines, and now to Sydney’s most exhilarating emerging entertainment project.
Charlie mentioned that he and Marcus share an incredibly close bond, almost as if they were siblings. They feed off each other’s vibe and energy. Whenever they go out together, it’s like watching a nightly movie spectacle.
Marcus commented: “The primary allure of Sydney lies in its magnificent harbor. That’s the essence we’re leveraging. We aim to provide an unforgettable evening, offering the city’s most stunning vistas.
With sold-out events and rave reviews pouring in, Magic Deck is just getting started.

The team is eagerly looking forward to broadening their brand, by unveiling fresh concepts, inviting special artists, and offering exclusive event reservations.
Charlie mentioned that they are constructing something far beyond a simple show. The aim is for Magic Deck to become the ultimate choice for any ladies’ night out.
Our team is filled with skilled entertainers who are ready for hire. We can arrange performances for various occasions, including bachelorette parties as well as upscale events.
For those thinking about entering the industry, both men say confidence is key.
Charlie suggested: “If considering it, remember it’s not solely for attracting girls. Instead, the main advantage lies in boosting your self-confidence. Speaking in public after stripping down before 300 people would seem trivial by comparison.
Marcus noted: “It’s fulfilling. Watching individuals enjoy the best evening they’ve ever had, all thanks to us, is why we put in the effort.
As Marcus puts it best: ‘Girls just want to have fun. And we’re here to make sure they do.’
