FlyQuest bench dexter after ESL Pro League exit
FlyQuest’s new direction is likely to begin with a new in-game leader.
The Australian team FlyQuest has opted for another lineup adjustment this season, replacing their in-game leader Christopher “dexter” Nong on the bench as they explore a fresh strategy starting today.
Dexter initially joined the restructured FlyQuest team, which later expanded its horizons overseas when Romanian player Iulian “regali” Harjău replaced AWPer Alistair “aliStair” Johnston towards the end of last year.

As a gamer, I’m sharing the news that my favorite team, FlyQuest, announced on March 13 via their Twitter account that Dexter has been benched. At 30 years old, he’s still sitting the bench, and the organization hasn’t named his replacement yet.
Following our analysis of the initial phase of the 2025 season, we’ve chosen to bench Dexter as we shift the team towards a new strategy. This was the announcement made, and not long after, Dexter issued his own statement expressing gratitude to his fellow players and the organization, while also acknowledging external factors that impacted our performance at the start of the season.
Dexter expressed that there were too many external influences affecting the team at the beginning of the year, which didn’t align with our goals. To ensure optimal physical condition, he plans to focus on self-care for the first time until he finds a new place. The recent string of losses has fortified his mental strength more than ever before, and he is always grateful for that experience.
In Romania during PGL Cluj-Napoca and ESL Pro League Season 21, FlyQuest experienced defeats that Dexter mentioned. The Australian team was swiftly eliminated by their opponents, and the squad struggled to display competitiveness across their three matches against Falcons, BIG, and SAW.
As a gamer, here’s how I might put it: After a tough stretch without a win, lasting nearly a month, my team, FlyQuest, finally secured victories against Lynn Vision and paiN at EPL. However, we fell short in the final stretch of stage one, facing off against APAC rivals TYLOO. Prior to that, our journey didn’t go as planned with an early exit at IEM Katowice and a defeat by Spirit in the BLAST Bounty Spring Qualifier.
FlyQuest hasn’t revealed their new fifth member as of yet. It seems they might be looking for an In-Game Leader replacement unless one of the current players decides to take on that role. Previously, Joshua “INS” Potter has led the team, but with players like Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen available, and FlyQuest open to recruiting from outside Oceania, it’s plausible that the Australian team composition remains at three.
