MAFS Star Martha Kalifatidis Blames Ex for $14K Toll and 44 Unpaid Fines in Shocking Court Case!
As a diligent enthusiast, I found myself appearing in court recently due to an accumulation of unpaid parking fees stretching back over a decade, a burden that had been weighing on me as a Married At First Sight star named Martha Kalifatidis.
As a die-hard admirer, I found myself following the recent court appearance of a former reality TV sensation, aged 36, who graced the Melbourne Online Magistrates Court. This star was there to address an astounding number of parking tickets (44), speeding infractions (10), and an eye-popping toll bill totaling $14,000! Oh, the irony – living life in the fast lane while still needing to pay up on time!
According to Herald Sun’s report from Friday, Kalifatidis denied responsibility for the outstanding traffic fines and instead accused her former boyfriend, Arthur Manidis, of being responsible.
Between 2012 and 2019, the fines were collected in Melbourne. During a court hearing, Kalifatidis informed Magistrate Michelle Mykytowycz that her former partner had pledged to cover these penalties personally.
During their five-year relationship, Kalifatidis is said to have frequently driven Manidis’s car. Later, upon moving to Sydney in 2016, he reportedly claimed ownership of the vehicle.
However, the influencer said she ‘stupidly’ never transferred the registration out of her name.
Reflecting on the situation now, I must admit that his promises sounded promising then – he vowed to settle their debts and work out a payment plan. This is what he shared with me, Kalifatidis.
However, his situation continued to deteriorate, becoming more and more challenging until we eventually lost contact with each other.
‘So I didn’t even bother asking him anymore what was happening with the fines.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no communication between us. Neither did we receive any correspondence from Fines Victoria nor any other similar notifications.
Kalifatidis explained that at the time she was questioned about not naming Manidis as the driver when she got the tickets, she wasn’t in a state of mind where she could think logically.
She expressed that she believed he would resolve everything eventually, but she hadn’t anticipated it reaching this point, she mentioned.
Nevertheless, Kalifatidis acknowledged that certain penalties were hers, disclosing she accumulated parking fines near her place of work and was issued a speeding ticket in 2019.
‘I can’t just completely say I didn’t do any of this,’ she said.
Ms Mykytowycz wiped the fines and ordered Kalifatidis to pay just $2000 by May 20.
In the year 2019, Kalifatidis became well-known during season six of Married at First Sight Australia when she fell in love with her partner, Michael Brunelli.
I’m proud to be part of one of the rare, highly successful duos who’ve emerged from the Nine Network show.
They share one son named Lucius, who they welcomed to the world in February 2023.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the extraordinary journey of Kalifatidis! Originally a skilled makeup artist, she transformed her passion into a lucrative profession. But that wasn’t enough for this remarkable woman; she ascended to stardom as an influencer, graced magazine covers as a model, became the face of numerous brands, and even ventured into reality television!
