While PlayStation hasn’t officially confirmed anything, a recent post from them is the strongest indication yet that an announcement is coming soon.
Although rumors are swirling, PlayStation hasn’t officially announced a State of Play for April 16, or any date for that matter. Still, with so many reliable sources suggesting an April event, it’s starting to seem increasingly probable. Now, a recent post from Insomniac Games on X is fueling even more excitement among PlayStation fans.
Is Marvel’s Wolverine Hinting At A State Of Play?
Insomniac Games recently updated fans on Marvel’s Wolverine, the PlayStation 5 exclusive game. While the game is scheduled to launch in September, their latest post on X mentioned they’ll share more details this spring. However, many people have pointed out that spring has already begun.
People have been commenting that Insomniac’s recent post might be a hint about next week’s State of Play. Some think they’re just reminding everyone about the game before the event is officially announced, while others believe it’s simply a coincidence.
Although Insomniac’s recent announcement seemed oddly timed, it only confirmed information we already had: the release date for Marvel’s Wolverine and that more details will be revealed this spring. Since spring lasts until late June, we could hear more about the game anytime in the next two months.
An April State Of Play Feels Increasingly Likely
It’s been a while since the last State of Play – February, actually – and I was a little bummed we didn’t hear anything about Marvel’s Wolverine. Insomniac did announce a release window separately that month, though. That got me thinking… maybe Wolverine will get its own dedicated showcase, like PlayStation has done with other big first-party games before. I’m really hoping for that!
Are we getting a PlayStation State of Play in April? It’s hard to say for sure. We do know they’re planning a detailed look at Stranger Than Heaven in May. It would be great if April’s stream focused on Marvel’s Wolverine. These broadcasts are usually announced just a day or two beforehand, so if one is happening next week, we’ll likely find out about it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
