Jungle

The Sugababes are beginning a fresh phase in their career, as they unveil their latest song titled “Jungle,” which marks their first single release in two years.

Back in 2023, the musical group comprising Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena, and Siobhán Donaghy, collectively known as them, put out their song “When The Rain” through the renowned record label, BMG.

Since then, I’ve found myself following them independently, as they’ve moved away from their previous record label. Their most recent song serves as a grand comeback for them in the music scene.

Expressing their enthusiasm, they declared in a communique: “We can hardly contain our excitement about unveiling ‘Jungle’. This marks the beginning of a fresh era for us following three fantastic years on tour. We’re thrilled to embark on this new chapter!

Immediately upon its creation, it seemed as if this song was exactly what listeners needed to hear initially. It’s a tune that encourages breaking free from the traditional 9-5 workday routine. We hope that everyone will unleash their inner spirit while listening to it!

The track, which was created by Jon Shave, the mastermind behind Charli XCX’s GRAMMY-winning album BRAT, skillfully combines the distinctive vocals of the girls with a fusion of 2 step, garage, and alternative pop styles.

Currently, the Sugababes are working on fresh content together with none other than Jade Thirlwall, popularly known these days as just JADE.

In their latest chat, the creators of “Round Round” shared that they have already worked on a verse and a chorus for the song featuring the singer, however, the project is still in progress and not fully finished yet.

During an interview with NME, Keisha mentioned that the Brit Award ceremony for Best Pop Act, which they presented to JADE, was delightful. Interestingly, she also disclosed that they had a songwriting session with JADE just a few weeks prior, making it even more enjoyable.

Siobhan inquired of her bandmate if they had listened to the track again yet. To this, Keisha responded: “Indeed, I heard it a day prior. To be clear, it wasn’t fully polished. We only worked on a verse and chorus, but it definitely has potential.

Regarding our writing session with JADE, Siobhán commented that it had a laid-back atmosphere: a non-stressful scenario where you [Keisha] were applying your makeup to go out, JADE was doing the same, and we all were simply writing. There was an exhilarating vibe to it.

Simultaneously, they’ve aimed their ambition towards performing on the prestigious Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, acknowledging that it’s most certainly on their performance bucket list.

Instead, Keisha suggests that it would be beneficial for the girls to produce a few fresh hits before they might be perceived as merely a group relying on past successes.

She mentioned that she aims for their performance to have a “refreshing and contemporary” vibe, stressing its importance while also noting that the term “reunion” doesn’t resonate with them because it doesn’t reflect their current situation.

Simultaneously, the group is embarking on their largest-ever UK and European tour next month, beginning on April 8 in Leeds and concluding in Milan in May.

Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan formed the iconic girl band in 1998.

After Siobhan departed in 2001, there were numerous changes to the lineup. Heidi Range took over her spot, but later on, Mutya and Keisha were replaced by Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen in the mid-2000s.

In 2019, I regained control over my professional moniker, and ever since then, it’s been an incredible journey filled with sold-out performances not just within the UK but across international stages as well. It’s a truly humbling experience to witness such overwhelming support from fans worldwide.
