Katie Price Reveals Menopause Struggle After Miscarriage Heartache
Katie Price recently disclosed that she is experiencing menopause, just weeks following her announcement about having a miscarriage.
46-year-old ex-fashion model openly discussed the upcoming phase of her life during a conversation with her sibling Sophie on their podcast. She confessed that she feels apprehensive about the physical transformations she’s experiencing.
Last month, Katie revealed that she suffered a miscarriage, surprising everyone as it happened even though medical professionals had informed her that the likelihood of her naturally conceiving was only 1%. This unexpected pregnancy was with her boyfriend, JJ Slater.
On an episode of The Katie Price Show, the celebrity shared thoughts about the resurgence of ’90s and early ’00s boy bands like the iconic group Five, who are getting back together again.
The celebrity confessed that it was surprising to discover she was of the same age as other stars from that period, expressing this sentiment to her sister Sophie: “With Five reuniting and Boyzone in the news – have you seen that? It makes us all appear older, but I still don’t feel old.
However, though I may appear youthful or wear trendy clothing, I am aware that I am no longer in my youth due to going through menopause. This reality is not affected by how young I feel or what I wear.

‘My body is old! It’s scary isn’t it? Inside my body it is ageing but the outside is fresh.’
Following Katie’s painful revelation about experiencing a miscarriage, after finding out she was pregnant with her partner, JJ Slater.
Unexpectedly, the television figure discovered herself carrying JJ, who is 31 years old, despite medical professionals informing her that she was approaching menopause and had only a 1% likelihood of conceiving naturally.
Katie found out she was pregnant over Boxing Day, when she realized she’d missed her period – unfortunately, she later discovered in early February that she had suffered a miscarriage.
She shared that we had visited a medical facility for some tests, including an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed the location of the unborn child, yet tragically, it indicated that the baby was no longer alive. She expressed her deep sorrow, stating, “It’s been heart-wrenching.
She shared with The Sun, “I’m not entirely sure if I cried or not, but the truth is, I felt incredibly sad. We transitioned from a state of joy and relief at my ability to conceive naturally, into a whirlwind of confusion, heartache, and sorrow.
Despite some reservations, Katie has made a commitment to resume In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with the goal of expanding her family by one more member. She remains determined to continue this process until medical reasons deem her too old for it.
Regarding my fertility, I mentioned: “Last year, I was informed that I was entering perimenopause and had just a 1% likelihood of conceiving naturally without assistance. Therefore, JJ and I hadn’t seriously considered the possibility; we weren’t actively trying to conceive at all.

However, on Boxing Day, I unexpectedly skipped a menstrual cycle. Normally, I have one every 28 days without fail, but this time, I experienced several unusual symptoms: my breasts became tender, I felt bloated, had mood swings, and developed feelings of nausea.
As thrilled as I was by the unexpected news, a hint of apprehension started to creep in when the lines on Katie’s pregnancy tests remained faint.
As a committed supporter, I’m excited to share that I, along with Katie, have partnered with Charity Tommy’s – a prominent UK organization dedicated to pregnancy and miscarriage support – with the goal of increasing visibility for mothers who have experienced loss.
According to a source, Kate and JJ have been going through a tough time recently. Their feelings have ranged from intense happiness to deep sorrow over the last few weeks.
Previously, Katie discussed experiencing multiple miscarriages, exceeding three in number, as well as a potentially life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.
The model has a 22-year-old disabled son named Harvey, a 19-year-old son Junior, a daughter Princess who is around the same age as Junior, and a 10-year-old son Jett and an 9-year-old daughter Bunny from two different relationships. The former footballer Dwight York is one of her partners, while Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler are her ex-husbands.
Previously, Katie admitted her apprehensions concerning the possibility of experiencing menopause due to newly appearing health issues, which she chose to share openly.
She’s been quite forthright about her aspirations for having another child, specifically a sixth one, and she’s also delved into the possibility of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she confided to her sister Sophie that she’s having trouble sleeping at night, which is unusual for her since she typically sleeps well, indicating there might be some underlying issue.
As a concerned individual, I’ve decided to undergo a blood test to explore the possibility of early onset menopause. Frankly, I’m not entirely sure about the mechanics, but rest assured, I’m still experiencing my periods.
As a dedicated follower, I can share that leading up to my periods, my bed would often become drenched with chilly perspiration, leaving me pondering if I was perhaps experiencing the onset of ‘the change’.
Previously, the celebrity found herself shocked when learning about approaching menopause while attempting In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) alongside ex-fiance Carl Woods, as documented in their series titled “Creating a Family.
2023 saw the filming of a Channel 4 program that chronicled the fertility treatment experiences of the ex-couple, who at the time were still together, as they aimed for another child.
For the past three years, Katie and Carl have been striving to conceive, but they received devastating news from a fertility specialist. At 45, Katie was informed that she had only a few active eggs remaining and that her body was exhibiting symptoms of menopause.
In the initial episode, gynecologist Carole Gilling-Smith shared some challenging news with the couple. She explained that their chances of conceiving with Katie’s eggs were extremely low, less than 1%. Furthermore, she suggested it was unlikely that Katie would produce a healthy egg for fertilization.

Despite the challenging turn of events being a heavy burden for the couple at the time, it appeared that Katie grew anxious about the possibility of Carl leaving her, considering she was soon approaching menopause (within a year or two) and may no longer be capable of conceiving naturally.
She exclaimed: ‘He probably won’t want to be with me now anyway.’
To the camera, she expressed her concern: ‘However, now I worry he may not want to be with me due to his desire for children. He might believe I’d bring too much trouble, and instead, opt for someone younger to start a family. This is my fear.’
In response to Carl labeling her attitude as ‘insane’, Katie expressed her feelings as being ‘overly suspicious or mistrustful’, saying, ‘The door is shut on me!’ instead.
Initially, fertility specialist Carole shared some disappointing news with Katie, explaining that the initial indications of aging were originating from her ovaries. Later on, Carole acknowledged that this revelation was a significant setback for Katie.
When women hear news like Katie’s, they often feel less attractive.)
Even though medical experts had given her only a small chance of success, Katie ultimately shared with Carole that she was resolved to proceed with the egg extraction process.
Later on in the film, you’ll witness Katie going through an egg retrieval process. Excitingly for her, not just one but two eggs were successfully gathered afterwards.
At first, the pair felt thrilled about the possibility of starting a family through IVF. However, their relationship ended during the filming process, and unfortunately, the in vitro fertilization didn’t yield the desired results for them.
