Boosie Badazz threw an after-party in Ohio. A shooting broke it up and left three people injured
On Monday morning, three individuals sustained injuries due to a shooting incident at a gathering in Akron, Ohio, which was being held by rap artist Boosie Badazz and had to be abruptly ended as a result.
In a statement, the Akron Police Department noted that an incident transpired at a bar located on Paul Williams Street, as reported by NBC affiliate WKYC. This occurrence took place in front of a substantial crowd. The authorities stated that a brawl ensued and an unidentified individual opened fire, hitting several victims. It is said that the suspect then escaped from the premises following the shooting. Cleveland’s news station WOIO added that the altercation happened approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, and off-duty officers employed as security for the business reportedly heard gunfire and requested help.
In my perspective as a moviegoer, I’d say: During a harrowing incident, two men – one an 18-year-old and the other a 36-year-old – were discovered by officers in a critical state. They were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for immediate care. The third individual, a 25-year-old, is said to have sought medical attention at an emergency room due to a graze wound from a gunshot. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed at this time.

On Thursday night at an East Hollywood recording studio, rap artist “Lil Yee” (real name Stacey Gilton) was shot when he refused to hand over his watch during an armed robbery, as reported by the police.
On Wednesday, a representative from the Akron Police Department didn’t promptly provide The Times with an incident report upon our request.
On March 9, rap artist Boosie Badazz (originally known as Torence Ivy Hatch Jr.) held his Millennium tour at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena, previously known as Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The show featured popular acts like Trey Songz, Omarion, Bow Wow, and Rick Ross. Following the concert, Boosie announced a post-show party to celebrate the Cleveland tour stop on social media.
Tonight, he announced his official after-party location on Instagram: Field House, 370 Paul Williams Street, Akron, Ohio. The event kicks off at 9PM sharp, so make sure to arrive early!
A video posted by TMZ depicts the “Wipe Me Down” and “Set It Off” artist quickly dropping to the ground in response to gunfire that erupted during his performance. Akron Police Deputy Chief Michael Miller informed their site that at least one bullet was discharged while the rapper was onstage.
On Monday, both The Fieldhouse Lounge and Status8 Elite Bar & Grille, situated on Paul Williams Street’s 300 block, expressed sympathy online over the “unfortunate occurrence” that transpired at their venue. Their message further conveyed, “Our hearts go out to the victims, their loved ones, and everyone impacted by this situation.

At a Los Angeles hip-hop event called “Once Upon a Time in L.A.”, an up-and-coming rap artist was tragically killed by stabbing backstage. Journalist Jeff Weiss, who happened to be there and reported on the incident, grapples with deep emotions over this unfortunate demise.
The notice conveyed to customers that our restaurants prioritize your safety and are determined to collaborate with the city of Akron to maintain the well-being of our neighborhood. In a subsequent announcement this Wednesday morning, Status8 declared they will stay shut until Friday, and the Fieldhouse Lounge is currently under temporary closure.
Following the announcement about implementing new rules, specifically a dress code and security measures, in their second post, Status8 subsequently published a third update detailing these specifics. Essentially, they clarified that certain types of clothing and footwear, oversized bags, and lighters would no longer be allowed in the restaurant.
The latest statement added: “Metal detectors will be on premises.”

Entertainment & Arts
Rapper Rakim Mayers, better known by his stage name ASAP Rocky, was found not guilty on Tuesday in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in Hollywood back in 2021.
As a movie buff, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the police can piece together the clues and find the individual responsible for the shooting, as reported by WKYC.
Boosie has chosen not to comment about the recent incident on social media platforms. As of Wednesday morning, it appears he intends to honor his forthcoming engagements. His Spring Fling event is scheduled for Friday in Philadelphia, and he’s also slated to perform at his hip-hop festival, Boosie Bash, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, later this month.
I, as a follower or representative of Boosie Badazz, have yet to offer a response to The Times’ request for comment on the specified day.
