A sneak peek at the highly anticipated follow-up to Spinal Tap is out now, and based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like everything has been dialed up to the max!
In a new development, the trio – Harry Shearer, Christopher Guest, and Michael McKean – are set to reprise their roles in the sequel to the legendary 1984 mockumentary, “This Is Spinal Tap“. This time, they’ll portray the iconic heavy metal band once more, as they prepare for one final performance.
A brief preview for the film, named Spinal Tap II: The Saga Unfolds, shows a hand adjusting several knobs on an amp to 11 – a nod to the original movie’s famous line – and then to infinity. A blast ensues as Spinal Tap’s song ‘Stonehenge’ sounds.

In the U.S., the upcoming sequel will hit screens on September 12 this very year, while the UK premiere date is still unconfirmed.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Spinal Tap II, knowing that it will be graced by the presence of music legends like Elton John, Paul McCartney, Questlove, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood. What an absolute treat!
Rob Reiner is set to return to his role as both the director and documentarian Marty Di Bergi, making a statement last year when filming started.

I just had a conversation with Marty DiBergi, who expressed his delight at the opportunity to step away from his role as a visiting Professor’s Assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts temporarily. This is so he can once again capture Spinal Tap on film, ensuring their continued status among Rock and Roll legends,” he joked.
A while back, it was announced that there would indeed be a follow-up. Back then, Reiner mentioned the reason as being the demise of Ian Faith, who served as their manager. However, in reality, Tony Hendra was the one who had passed away.
In essence, Ian’s surviving spouse obtained a contract indicating Spinal Tap still owed them another performance. If the band failed to deliver, she intended to take legal action.
For many years, they have harbored animosity towards each other. Now, circumstances bring them back together, leaving them no choice but to interact and perform this concert.
As a die-hard gamer excitedly tapping my fingers, I can’t help but share the news that the next chapter of Spinal Tap’s epic saga, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, is hitting US cinemas on September 12! Unfortunately, us fans in the UK are still waiting to hear when we’ll get to rock out with them. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
