On Tuesday morning, I found myself missing my favorite duo, Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello, on GB News. To my surprise, it was just Ellie in her hosting chair without the charismatic Eamonn by her side. Oh, how I yearned for his engaging presence!

On a recent Instagram post on Monday, the 65-year-old host of our morning show (Monday through Wednesday) explained to his followers why he wasn’t hosting as usual.

The broadcaster disclosed that he had a delightful vacation by the seashore, as evidenced by the picture he posted, showing him savoring an ice cream under the sun.

He captioned his post: ‘Even my mouth wasn’t big enough for this ! ☀️ Love an ice cream x’

On Thursdays and Fridays, Stephen Dixon typically co-hosts GB News alongside Anne Diamond. However, on a specific occasion, he stood in for the Northern Irish presenter.

The unexpected shift in the team roster occurred following Eamonn’s recent theater visit, which he attended as a birthday celebration for his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, last month.

Last May, Eamonn openly announced his new romance with a 43-year-old relationship counselor, after parting ways with Ruth Langsford.

Leaving London in a luxury Range Rover driven by a chauffeur, the couple elegantly attired for the event, with Katie donning a stylish black midi dress.

She teamed the embellished number with a pair of strappy heels and carried a metallic clutch bag. 

Eamonn, supported by a walking frame, chose a timeless suit paired with a crisp white shirt and a blue necktie.

Following my spinal surgery due to a herniated disc in 2022, I’ve had to navigate life with the assistance of a wheelchair rather than walking unassisted.

Eamonn recently made a sweet marriage remark live on air after his split from ex Ruth. 

Back in 1996, the presenter started a relationship with one of the Loose Women panelists, who was then 64 years old. However, they parted ways last year following 14 years of marriage.

During the Valentine’s Day morning show on GB News, he seldom discussed married life, but he did so with his co-anchor Ellie.

Inquired about his recollection of his initial Valentine, Eamonn answered: ‘I ended up marrying her.’ To which Ellie responded with a smile: ‘Oh, how sweet!’

Eamonn mentioned his first spouse, Gabrielle Holmes, whom he wed in 1985, and with whom he has three children: Declan, Rebecca, and Niall.

A few months ago, following his split with Ruth in May, Eamonn made his relationship with Katie known, whereas Ruth continues to be publicly unattached.

Discussing her divorce with a friend at home, Ruth is resolved to move forward and exhibits a sense of excitement for the future, particularly about the possibility of meeting someone new.

In response to being asked about her current emotional state, Ruth mentioned that she’s managing okay. She went on to explain that dealing with the end of relationships, be they marital or friendly, can be extremely challenging. However, one must find a way to cope and ultimately, keep moving forward.

‘You can either let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.’

Ruth, who co-parents son Jack, 22, with Eamonn, stated: ‘I may not be thrilled that my relationship has ended, but I’ve come to terms with it. Now, I’m focusing on enjoying my newfound singleness and making decisions that prioritize me.’
