ITV promises “addictive love story” in new drama from Fool Me Once boss
ITV has commissioned a new psychological drama from Fool Me Once screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst.
The titled “Adultery” six-part series revolves around the main character, 15-year-old Jess, as she becomes deeply involved in a passionate relationship with her classmate, Ollie.
Yet, when Tom, Jess’ father, encounters Beth, Ollie’s mom, their lives could potentially be disrupted irreversibly. This is because Tom and Beth find it challenging to suppress the attraction they feel towards one another.
The series explores themes of social class, mourning, and the impact of social media, by unfolding a thrilling tale of desire, parenthood, and danger, as characters Tom and Beth become entangled in a passionate and tumultuous love affair that could shake up their entire world.
Filming for the movie concerning infidelity is scheduled to start in Manchester this year; further information about the cast will be shared at a future time.
Brocklehurst expressed, “This story is filled with intense emotion, and I’ve felt deeply compelled to bring it to life for quite a while.” His resume boasts works like “Brassic” and the BBC’s “Ten Pound Poms“.
I’m excited to join forces with ITV and Poison Pen, creating a program that explores the power of love and intimacy to take us on emotional rollercoasters, reaching both incredible heights and heart-wrenching depths.
ITV’s Drama Director, Polly Hill, stated: “Danny’s fantastic scripts will captivate viewers right from the beginning of this tale of adultery. Fundamentally, it’s a story about love, and I’m thrilled to bring an engaging love story to ITV. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Danny, Ben, and the team at Poison Pen Studios on this project.
In addition to developing the series titled “Adultery“, Brocklehurst will also serve as an executive producer, working alongside Ben Stephenson, Preethi Mavahalli, and Luke Woellhaf on this project.
Moreover, you may have missed that Brocklehurst has joined forces with Harlan Coben once again for another intriguing series. Earlier collaborations between these two include popular Netflix shows like “The Stranger,” “Safe,” “Stay Close,” and most recently the highly acclaimed “Fool Me Once.
Entitled “Lazarus“, the Prime Video show revolves around a forensic psychologist encountering mysterious and inexplicable occurrences following the demise of his father.
