Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Celebrate Son Levi’s Red Carpet Moment at SXSW!

Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, are no strangers to the red carpet, but even as seasoned attendees, they couldn’t resist capturing the special moment when their teenage son struck a pose at a major event.

On Monday evening during the premier of Matthew’s movie “The Rivals of Amziah King” at SXSW, the influential duo were spotted capturing a photo of their oldest son, Levi who is 16 years old, on the red carpet.

Camila, aged 42, with a miniature version of herself as a daughter, flashed a wide grin while she retrieved her phone for a snapshot of the teenager.

Matthew, 55, also grinned from ear-to-ear as he proudly looked at his son posing for the cameras.

Levi holds the position of being the oldest among a family of three, which includes his 15-year-old sister Vida and 13-year-old brother Livingston. Both his siblings were absent during this particular occasion, leaving him as the only child present with their parents.

Irrespective of his growing fame, it was evident that he relished being in the limelight, as he gladly participated in interviews during the red carpet events.

Originally hailing from Itambacuri, Brazil, Camila relocated to New York City at the age of 19, with a dream to break into modeling. Her determination paid off, as she ultimately graced the covers of renowned fashion magazines.

In the year 2006, she crossed paths with Matthew, and five years later, in a secluded Catholic service held in Austin, Texas, they officially became husband and wife in 2012.

Born in Texas, McConaughey first garnered recognition for his role in Dazed and Confused (1993), which later led him to become a leading man with successful films like A Time to Kill (1996) and Dallas Buyers Club (2013), where he won an Oscar.

The couple teamed up in 2023 to launch their organic tequila brand, Pantalones.

Simultaneously, Matthew’s movie, called “The Rivals of Amziah King,” was met with a seldom-seen standing ovation at SXSW.

In the movie summary, we find that Kateri, portrayed by Angelina LookingGlass, experiences a tragic loss of her mother and departs from foster care. Later, she reconnects with her former foster parent Amziah, played by McConaughey, who guides her, bringing forth abilities she was unaware of. As events take a heartbreaking turn, Kateri draws upon her newly discovered resilience to pursue justice.

In the past six years, it’s been since Matthew last appeared in a live-action movie, with his most recent role being in the 2019 film The Gentlemen.

The Academy Award-winning individual presented his newest venture, making note of the gap in his career by stating, as reported by Deadline, “It’s been approximately six years since I last worked on a film or appeared on screen?

What drew me to this movie? Rarely do I encounter something so unique that it feels fresh and unfamiliar yet instantly relatable. It offers a distinct setting, time, and atmosphere. There is genuine humor, sincerity, and an abundance of heart and spirit in it.

In a setting reminiscent of a carnival-like revival band that performs live shows in Dairy Queen parking lots, I am a beekeeper and have a heartwarming story to tell about a foster parent and their foster child. It’s also a love story featuring a group of misfits and underdogs who come together to form a community of kind-hearted individuals, including people with distinctive physical features like hair lips or knee scrapes, who would go out of their way to help others without hesitation. These experiences inspired me to create something musical!

In the movie, it is Andrew Patterson who both directed and co-wrote the script, alongside James Montague. The main cast includes Kurt Russell, Cole Sprouse, Catherine Dyer, Sandra Ellis Lafferty, Bruce Davis, Sharon Blackwood, and Harrison Stone.
