Pasta Expert’s Shocking Verdict on Meghan Markle’s One-Pot Spaghetti Scandalizing Italy!

Fans find themselves at odds over the debatable one-pot spaghetti dish presented by Meghan Markle in the first episode of her Netflix series, “With Love, Megan.

In this installment, we find the Duchess of Sussex preparing a favorite meal, ‘skillet spaghetti’, a dish she often prepares for her family including Prince Harry and their kids, Archie (aged 5) and Lilibet (3 years old).

Instead of the conventional way which involves submerging pasta in a big pot filled with salted boiling water, the Duchess opts for pouring three cups of boiling water over uncooked spaghetti and pre-cooked ingredients, followed by covering it.

On Monday, popular TikTok star and American pasta chef Danny Freeman joined the debate and posted a video demonstrating his experiment with the one-pot meal.

In the realm of pasta, there’s been a dish causing quite a stir lately – the Meghan Markle’s Single Skillet Spaghetti. As an authority on all things noodles, I feel compelled to share my honest thoughts with you. Here’s how I experienced it:

“This single skillet spaghetti has been making waves around the world and as a pasta connoisseur, I couldn’t resist giving it a try. In this video, let me walk you through my personal take on this intriguing recipe.

‘Megan shared a dish from her latest program titled “With Love, Megan”. She mentioned that she makes this meal for her children and packs the leftovers into their lunchboxes. Although she didn’t provide an exact recipe, I came up with one based on what she demonstrated and included it in the description.’

Danny begins the dish preparation by slicing up some cherry tomatoes before placing them in a heated skillet alongside olive oil, salt, and minced garlic.

He says he would add an extra step in the method to help bring out the flavours of the dish.

Danny mentions that he usually sautés the garlic first for added flavor, but instead, she puts the dry spaghetti directly on top, followed by lemon zest and Swiss chard stems.

Afterward, he arrives at the contentious section of the recipe, but Danny suggests that perhaps Meghan had a point with her unconventional approach.

In this part, the recipe becomes debatable, and Danny implies that Meghan might have been right about her distinctive technique.

Lastly:
He proceeds to the disputable aspect of the recipe, but Danny insinuates that maybe Meghan had a valid argument for her original approach.

‘Now this is where it gets controversial,’ Danny says.

She heats water using a teakettle, then pours it into a skillet, followed by cooking spaghetti for a while. After that, she throws in kale and Swiss chard, continues to cook, and indeed, her meal is ready.

Cooking pasta with only a small amount of water results in water that’s quite starchy. This starchy liquid can thicken sauces, giving the impression of creaminess without using actual cream.

In his ongoing evaluation, Danny shares that his kids might not show the same enthusiasm for the ingredients like Archie and Lilibet do.

When the pasta is cooked, she tops it with red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese, and arugula. It seems that my children aren’t as health-conscious as hers because they would undoubtedly avoid all the greens. However, I quite enjoy how this dish turned out, he states.

Rounding out his post, Danny gives Meghan’s controversial dish his tick of approval.

He mentions that it’s quite quick and the sauce has an excellent consistency. Additionally, he suggests experimenting by using broth rather than water to enhance the flavor since the sauce itself was slightly lacking in taste.

‘But I love this method, I love a one-pot meal, so Meghan, I think this recipe is a keeper.’

Meghan’s recipe featured in the first episode of her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan.

To be honest, despite my enthusiasm for her culinary endeavors, I must admit that the meal she prepared alongside her make-up artist Daniel Martin did not quite pique my interest as expected.

Some viewers aired their grievances on X.

‘Next she’ll show us how to make frozen pizza!’ another joked.

Another lamented: ‘She overcooked the noodles. Slimy looking.’

What on earth is that? It appears as though she prepared something resembling soup, overcooked the vegetables to an extreme degree, added some spaghetti and decided it was done.

Someone commented that the pasta turned out well eventually, however, it’s possible they would have yelled at their TV screens if they were Italian, seeing as how she added water to the sauce.

Others, however, came to the Duchess’ defence.

‘It looked delicious to me,’ one person wrote.

On another occasion potentially tarnishing an entire European country, the Duchess refers to the well-loved Italian pasta as ‘noodles’ multiple times during meal preparation.

In yet another instance that could stain a whole European nation’s reputation, the Duchess repeatedly calls the beloved Italian pasta ‘noodles’ during meal preparation.

When Parmesan cheese is finely shredded as a final touch for the meal, Meghan says it as “Parmigian,” a slight adaptation of the original Italian term, Parmigiana.
