Shocking Video Emerges of 80s Rocker’s Fiancee’s Fatal Fall from Cruise Ship Balcony
The heartbreaking passing of Taime Downe’s fiancée from the band Faster Pussycat has taken an unsettling twist, as it’s been reported that a distressing video has surfaced showing her tragic fall.
On the inaugural night of The 80s Cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas, Kimberly Burch, aged 56, tragically fell from a balcony of a room following an intense disagreement with a 60-year-old rocker. This unfortunate event took place on March 2.
According to TMZ, the last moments of Burch were recorded on video, which appears to show the realtor attempting to climb the ship’s railing before jumping off.
Currently, the video is under the jurisdiction of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) in Florida. MDSO has informed TMZ that their investigation regarding the matter remains active.
Downes’ band members left the Port of Miami ship around 6:45AM local time, following the unfortunate demise of Burch. They spent several hours waiting for their frontman to arrive, as authorities conducted an investigation.
Burch’s body has not been found.

I’ve reached out to the spokespersons of Taime Downe, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Department, and Royal Caribbean Group for their thoughts on the matter.
Last week, a representative from the Royal Caribbean Group verified the tragic incident to DailyMail.com: ‘Upon learning of the incident, our team promptly initiated a search and rescue operation, collaborated with local authorities, and are offering comfort and aid to the bereaved family in this challenging period.’
‘To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.’
On a seven-day voyage, Kimberly accompanied Taime, the punk band member, during their concert tour. This trip began in Miami, intending to stop at Nassau, San Juan, and Labadee along the way.
Just prior to her passing, she was photographed alongside Downe on the vessel and penned: ‘We arrived at @the80scruise.’ or simply, ‘Before she died, she took a photo with Downe on the ship and posted: “We’re here at @the80scruise.”‘
Last week, a reliable source near Burch shared with DailyMail.com that prior to the unfortunate incident, there was a noticeable disagreement between Downe and Burch, which they had been heard discussing quite passionately.
From my perspective as a lifestyle guide, I’ve overheard that there was an altercation occurring within their private quarters. All that could be discerned from the outside were loud voices, but no distinct words or phrases could be distinguished.
Apart from the occasional bliss, their bond appeared harmonious. Neither one ever voiced discontentment, small or significant, suggesting a deep affection for one another. They appeared deeply in love and content together.
The source mentioned that they had come across various tales suggesting Burch was intoxicated on the night of her demise, yet asserted that Burch generally abstained from alcohol and aided Downe in maintaining his sobriety.
Carnell Burch, Kimberly’s mother, informed TMZ on March 3rd that Taime had phoned her with the heartbreaking news of Kimberly’s passing. The exact circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death – whether she jumped or accidentally fell from the ship – remain uncertain, but Carnell is convinced that Kimberly would not intentionally harm herself.
As a lifestyle advisor, I might rephrase that sentence like this: I noticed an unusual behavior from my friend Kimberly during our cruise vacation; she was drinking more than usual. This was unexpected, as it deviated from her typical habits. Moreover, it’s been mentioned that prior to her passing, there had been a disagreement between Kimberly and her daughter, Taime.

At that point, Carnell mentioned that her daughter wasn’t dealing with depression or emotional troubles, instead she was eager for the upcoming journey. The trip was just beginning, boasting a lineup of musical performances on its first day, with acts such as Squeeze, Adam Ant, Tiffany, and Men at Work.
It’s reported that Kimberly allegedly leapt from the balcony of her eighth-story cabin during the first night of the cruise, approximately 11pm Pacific Standard Time, which is about 80 miles off the coast of Miami, according to a passenger’s statement on X.
Presently, we’re sailing on the RCL Explorer of the Seas for the #80scruise. Regrettably, there’s a “woman overboard” incident happening and lifeboats have been launched. At the moment, we are around 80 miles off Miami, it’s 11pm PST. This isn’t ideal.
It seems as though a woman leaped from her eighth-story balcony following a dispute with her companion, which marks a grim and unfortunate incident during our fifteenth cruise voyage – something we had not previously encountered.
Undeniably, the focus is on rescuing the woman. The boat has made a U-turn and come to a halt. Search boats have been sent out. This might turn into a lengthy evening…
A visitor reported: ‘Someone fell overboard from the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas during the 80s themed cruise. After enjoying a fantastic performance by Squeeze, an announcement was made that someone had gone overboard. The ship has halted its journey and is conducting a search. Surrounding vessels are also offering assistance.’

A US Coast Guard spokesperson said the incident happened roughly 20 miles from Freeport, Bahamas.
A Coast Guard team, including helicopter pilots and additional personnel, were sent to aid the Royal Bahamas Defense Force during their rescue operation. However, this operation was eventually called off.
Kimberly and Taime had been together for around ‘five or six years.’
A traveler shared with THR, “An announcement came over the intercom stating that someone had fallen off the ship, causing it to halt and change direction in an attempt to find the individual.
The vessel halted for several hours, and rescue boats equipped with searchlights were launched to brighten up the surroundings. A neighboring cruise ship also had its lights on, scouring the area as well. My wife conversed with some individuals on one of the decks who claimed they overheard that it was a woman and she was captured on video. However, this information is unverified.
After some time, the ship started functioning again, and off we sailed. Earlier today, a PA announcement informed us that the US Coast Guard had assumed control of the search operation. We arrived in Nassau, Bahamas slightly delayed. No excursions were called off. Since then, there have been no updates.

I’ve reached out to the spokespersons for Taime Downe, the organizers of the 80s Cruise, and Royal Caribbean for their responses.
1985 saw the emergence of the glam metal group known as Faster Pussycat, which consisted of members Downe on vocals, guitarists Greg Steele and Brent Muscat, and bassist Kelly Nickels.
They achieved great success in their career during the late 1980s and early 1990s, with sales of more than two million records across the globe.
Four albums have been launched by them: “Faster Pussycat” in 1987, “Wake Me When It’s Over” in 1989, “Whipped!” in 1992, and “The Power and the Glory Hole” in 2006.
They broke up in 1993, but reformed in 2001.
Former drummer Brett Bradshaw died on March 26, 2021, at age 50.
