HoYoverse is preparing to launch version 4.2 of Honkai: Star Rail, called “So Laughed the Masses,” on April 23, 2026. The update will include plenty of new content, such as two new 5-star characters—Evansia and Silver Wolf Lv 999—along with a limited-time 5-star character, and events to celebrate the game’s 3rd anniversary.

New Playable Character and Reruns in HSR Version 4.2

Silver Wolf Lv 999

Silver Wolf is a new 5-Star character in Honkai: Star Rail, specializing in Imaginary damage. She’s a powerful DPS character who uses her Ultimate ability to inflict significant area-of-effect damage on enemies. Evanescia

Evanescia is a brand-new 5-Star character in Honkai: Star Rail who focuses on Physical damage. She’s a DPS character that can both deal significant damage and help your team by lowering enemies’ defense. Elation Trailblazer

Version 4.2 will introduce a new character, Lightning Elation Trailblazer. He boosts the damage of Elation-based damage dealers, increases their critical hit damage, removes harmful effects from one ally, and either adds an extra use to an Elation skill or speeds up its progression.

Reruns

Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 4.2 will be shorter than usual, lasting just 42 days. This means each character phase will only be available for 21 days. Both the new character, Evanescia, and the Silver Wolf rerun banner will be available for the full 42 days, with each rerun lasting 21 days.

After the Version 4.2 update, Huohuo, Firefly, Seele, and Welt kits will be buffed.

Free Huohuo and Robin

Once the 4.2 update is live, simply log in to the game to receive one Golden Companion Spirit. You’ll also be able to find Huohuo and Robin available for purchase in the in-game store.

Triple Drop Event

In version 4.2, you’ll have a much better chance of getting items from Plannar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty – the drop rate for these areas is being increased by 300%.
