Amanda Batula has publicly apologized for upsetting people with her secret relationship with West Wilson. This is her first statement since the couple confirmed they were dating.
The reality TV star finally addressed the controversy on Friday after fans reacted angrily to the news of her relationship with West.
West has a unique connection to Batula – he’s friends with both her ex, Kyle Cooke, and Kyle’s former partner, Ciara Miller.
Hey everyone, I wanted to quickly address my recent absence. I’m so sorry for disappearing and for letting anyone down, especially those of you I’ve spoken to directly. I truly value all of you and I’m really sorry for any hurt I’ve caused.
I’m working on getting back to a more normal life for my own well-being. If you see me out and about or online, please understand that I’m still deeply affected by everything that’s happened, and I haven’t forgotten it.
‘I’ll be at the reunion and will be addressing any and all questions honestly and directly there.’
Cooke and Batula were married for four years before they announced their divorce earlier this year.
The breakup got some attention, but it was quickly overshadowed by the excitement surrounding Batula’s new relationship with West.
Okay, so they finally addressed it! I’ve been scouring the internet, seeing all the rumors, and I was starting to lose it. But they just put out a statement – it’s super recent, they said, but they wanted everyone to know it’s real! I can’t even breathe right now, they’re officially together! All that speculation… it was RIGHT! I knew it!
We never meant to keep anything secret. With the complex emotions and public attention from being on a reality show, we just needed some time to sort things out privately before talking about it.
We’ve been friends for a long time, supporting each other through everything life has thrown our way. This recent development in our relationship was a complete surprise to both of us.
Okay, so it wasn’t just some random fling – we’ve been friends forever, real friends. And because of that, I just felt like everything had to be handled so carefully, you know? It meant the world to me that we didn’t rush anything and really thought things through. It just felt different because of all that history.
‘As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling.’
I know we’ve all been affected by this, and honestly, the last thing we ever wanted was to cause anyone pain or give the impression that we didn’t care. It really bothered us to think our actions might have hurt someone, and we never intended for that to happen.
It concluded: ‘We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.’
The news was confirmed a few days after rumors started circulating online, fueled by a post on the gossip account Deux Moi claiming the pair had been seen kissing.
Miller hadn’t said much publicly about her ex dating her friend, but she finally spoke out the same day Wilson and Batula announced they were a couple.
The reality TV personality from Summer House shared a video and questioned, ‘If you can’t trust your friends and neighbors, who can you trust?’
On Monday, Miller reported from the red carpet at the season 2 premiere of Your Friends & Neighbors, conducting interviews with cast members for Apple TV+.
While interviewing 55-year-old Jon Hamm, Miller asked him how he was doing.
‘Wonderful, thank you. How are you?’ Hamm replies.
The camera then zooms in on Miller, who says, ‘I’m good,’ before adding, ‘Well, I’ve been better.’
She playfully suggested during the video that everyone involved in the project has questionable ethics.
She also told another cast member that she is ‘on Prozac.’
People are wondering how long Batula and West have been attracted to each other, drawing comparisons to the cheating scandal on Vanderpump Rules – often called ‘Scandoval’ – where Tom Sandoval had an affair with Raquel Leviss while in a long-term relationship with Ariana Madix.
Fans on Reddit and TikTok buzzed with theories, and many Bravo viewers noticed something interesting: both Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard seemed to own the same distinctive sweatshirt. Photos surfaced of Carl wearing it in November 2025, and Lindsay was seen in it just last month.
Wilson and Miller’s breakup was complicated by Wilson giving several interviews about it afterwards, including a detailed one with The New York Times.
In an interview with The Times, Wilson explained he was unable to confirm Miller’s involvement due to issues connected with the show itself.
He said at the time that he didn’t believe those issues were a fair reason to end the relationship.
Wilson admitted she might have come across more sincerely if she’d simply said the relationship had naturally ended and they weren’t a good match, leaving it at that.
I realize now that trying to avoid talking about the relationship directly and focusing on other issues just made me seem foolish.
Miller has been very open about how deeply the relationship affected her, even becoming emotional and crying during the Summer House Season 8 reunion.
