Carrie Underwood Shocked by Nepo Baby’s Singing
During the premier of American Idol’s 23rd season on Sunday, Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys beamed with pride and enthusiasm as his son, Baylee, showcased his talent in an audition.
Previously a member of a boy band, now aged 50, felt deeply moved when his 22-year-old spitting image impressed judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan during the singing contest, securing his advancement to the next round.
Following Underwood mentioning that Baylee seemed ‘familar’, viewers learned about the up-and-coming artist’s musical heritage.
Before his audition, where he showcased an original composition, Baylee shared that it was his father’s pop stardom that sparked his passion for music.
Walking in my father’s shoes is intimidating since I view his profession as among the most exceptional in music history. There’s simply no one who can match up to him,” he expressed with reverence.

He mentioned, ‘I recall being around eight or nine years old when [Backstreet Boys] filled this massive arena, and I got to warm up for them. I simply had my two short songs and I stepped off stage, then, as the guys took over, the shrieks and lights dimmed. I was utterly captivated.’
Brian’s 55-year-old wife, Leighanne Wallace, not only shares life with him but also enjoys a shared talent: their son, who is proficient in both singing and playing the guitar.
Speaking candidly, the singer of I Want It That Way noted that many perceive his industry background as a privilege for his son. However, he emphasized it’s not simple. He has often shared that his son is ten times more gifted than he himself ever was.
‘We’re super proud. I think he’s cut out for it,’ he told cameras outside of the audition.
Prior to demonstrating his skills, the younger Littrell shared, “This song reflects my personal struggle of considering giving up but deciding not to.
As a lifestyle aficionado, let me share my sentiments sincerely: If I’m not immersed in the world of music, I simply cannot authentically live and breathe.
After the show, Carrie complimented him by saying, “I believe you have great potential to advance deep into this contest.
After Luke invited him, Brian eagerly took part in a joint performance of the song again, this time with a harmonious finale, since it was his son who asked him to handle the chorus.
