Bachelorette Bluff: Michael Turnbull’s Latest Lie Exposed
A television personality from the past, once criticized for his extravagant assertions, is currently asserting that he has ownership of two football clubs located internationally.
Previously, Michael Turnbull, a contestant on the Bachelorette, falsely declared himself as a player for the Australian national soccer team (Socceroo) who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Additionally, he was involved in a controversy surrounding a counterfeit Rolex watch.
He recently announced on social media that he is the proprietor of both Club Deportivo Leganés in Spain and Cancun FC in Mexico.
43-year-old Turnbull identifies himself as the proprietor of both teams in his Instagram biography and similarly states ownership of Deportivo on his formal LinkedIn account.
In reality, both clubs are managed by the Blue Crow Sports Group, a consortium led by American sports mogul, Jeff Luchow.
Or,
The ownership of both clubs lies with the Blue Crow Sports Group, which is headed by US sports tycoon Jeff Luchow.
Both sentences convey the same information in a natural and easy-to-read manner.
Nevertheless, even with the clearly stated ownership structure of the clubs, Turnbull remained firm when faced by Daily Mail Australia’s challenge.

In spite of the transparent club ownership structure, Turnbull stood his ground when challenged by Daily Mail Australia.
OR
Despite the evident ownership structure of the clubs, Turnbull did not back down in the face of confrontation by Daily Mail Australia.
He acknowledged that he wasn’t the only owner, contrary to what his online profiles suggested, yet he emphasized: ‘I am part of the ownership group for Leganes and Cancun.’
‘But there are several owners across the teams.’

Turnbull claimed he holds stocks in Blue Crow Sports, yet he refused to disclose the specific amount. You won’t find him listed on their official site or social media content.
‘My group owns a percentage of Blue Crow Sports and Jeff [Lunhow] is the CEO,’ he added.
Blue Crow Sports has created a unique investment strategy that allows individuals to own shares in numerous sports clubs simultaneously.
Their approach is to purchase soccer teams from lower divisions, aiming to nurture them towards competing in more prestigious leagues through development.
In 2015, Turnbull, a former A-League goalkeeper who played six games for the New Zealand Knights in 2006/7 (a team that unfortunately didn’t last long), grabbed attention due to his captivating stories on the reality TV show, The Bachelorette.
Although he boasts about playing for Australia at the top tier, his most notable achievement was being a reserve player for the under-23 team during the 2000 Olympics.
He didn’t play in any of the three matches against Italy, Honduras, and Nigeria, as he was benched due to the former goalkeeper of Leeds United, Danny Milosevic.
He’s never represented the Socceroos in a game, and his only appearance on the field was during a single U23 match, but that wasn’t at the Olympics either.
In spite of this, he boasted on The Bachelorette: ‘My most notable achievement in my career was representing Australia and the Socceroos, as well as participating in the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.’
For the majority of his professional journey, he played for teams such as Marconi Stallions based in Sydney and Oakleigh Cannons from Melbourne, primarily at the amateur and semi-professional level.

Additional false statements were debunked after Daily Mail Australia exposed that he wore a counterfeit Rolex watch during the broadcast.
Back in October 2015, it was found out by Daily Mail Australia that the Rolex Malcolm Turnbull wore wasn’t genuine; instead, it was a replica following an examination by a reputable watchmaker based in Sydney.
‘It’s a fake and it’s an ugly fake,’ the expert said. ‘Rolex don’t make ugly, and that’s ugly.’
Approximately a year and six months past the event, he persisted that the watch was genuine and eventually shared a certificate of authenticity on Instagram as proof.
In 2015, it wasn’t made clear why Turnbull didn’t produce the proof of his Rolex being authentic when A Current Affair questioned him following an exclusive report by Daily Mail Australia suggesting the watch was a replica.
He said that it didn’t matter if it was genuine or not, as it had been given to him by a very dear person.
In the very same year, it was discovered that he had been showcasing a $1,000 Cristal champagne bottle on Instagram, which unbeknownst to him, was just an image he had randomly downloaded from the internet.
Later on, he allowed A Current Affair to enter his residence, where they discovered an inexpensive stock of Mumm champagne hidden in a linen cupboard, yet there was no Cristal to be found.
