‘The Last of Us’ cast rates how hard they work to avoid spilling Season 2 spoilers
AT AUSTIN, Texas – Despite “The Last of Us Part II” video game being released in 2020, which is seven years following its blockbuster predecessor, there remains a significant number of viewers who are unaware of the upcoming events on HBO’s Emmy-winning adaptation. As such, during SXSW, the studio where the series team visited was strictly forbidden to disclose any spoilers on Saturday.

In Season 2 of “The Last of Us,” Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie, an unconventional pair navigating a perilous post-apocalyptic United States in search of a world-saving cure. Five years have passed since the events of Season 1, and Joel and Ellie have found a measure of stability within the rebuilt community of Jackson, Wyoming – though their connection might be more complex than that. The new season also introduces Abby, portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever, who embarks on a mission to find Joel and Ellie following her father’s demise.

In their discussion, the team consisting of Isabela Merced, Gabriel Luna, Young Mazino, creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, along with writer Halley Gross, delved into topics such as the characters’ starting points for Season 2, its political undertones, and the challenges they face in maintaining secrecy during interviews. The highly anticipated series “The Last of Us” is set to return on April 13. For a comprehensive look at their conversation, check out the full video below.
