Jax Taylor Celebrates 100 Days of Sobriety After Revealing Decades-Long Battle with Cocaine

Jax Taylor has reached 100 days of sobriety from both alcohol and cocaine.

He updated his Instagram with a picture showing him casually posed against a wall, dressed smartly in a white suit, exuding elegance.

Taylor also shared an image of a countdown showing 100 days free of both substances.

He captioned the post, ‘100 days down and the rest of my life to go.’

Supporters of him showed tremendous backing for his project, yet neither members of the Vanderpump Rules or The Valley cast expressed any opinions regarding Taylor’s health announcement.

In an episode of the Hot Mic podcast, the 45-year-old television personality openly discussed his struggle with cocaine addiction that has spanned over two decades.

He admitted, “I struggle with drug problems, particularly cocaine. It’s tough for me to openly discuss this, but I’ve been dealing with it intermittently since I turned 23. Now, at the age of 45, I find myself still grappling with this issue.

‘There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I’d go heavy on it.

Jax clarified that this condition is incredibly challenging, he wants others to be aware of its immense difficulty.

He said he can’t drink alcohol and stay clean from cocaine, so he’s given that up too.

Expressing what I’m about to say has been unprecedented for me. Admitting openly that I struggle with an addiction and dealing with a condition that requires ongoing management throughout my life is a significant step for me. Undeniably, it feels like a massive burden has been removed from my shoulders.

Taylor admitted that the strain of his marital separation significantly worsened his addiction issues. This eventually led him to seek treatment in a rehabilitation center, following an incident where he reached his lowest point and lashed out at his separated spouse in the presence of their three-year-old son, Cruz.

On March 7, Jax’s former spouse, Brittany Cartwright (aged 36), talked about his struggles with substance abuse during an episode of their podcast titled ‘When Reality Hits’.

As a wellness advocate, I genuinely wish nothing but the best for Jax, let’s face it. For years, I’ve tirelessly endeavored to support his growth and cultivate a harmonious family life. The depth of my affection for him is undeniable, and it’s a love that no one can question. You understand? My devotion was unwavering.

In my role as a lifestyle advisor, I went above and beyond to ensure that, particularly once we welcomed our little one into the world, he received all the assistance he required.

I found myself questioning the manner in which Taylor presented his reasons for returning to rehab, as this point struck a chord with me personally.

She said he was primarily motivated to go to rehab because he was on the verge of losing his job.

Brittany said she was upset that he wasn’t motivated stay sober for her and their son.

She mentioned that it was when he yelled at her, with Cruz present, that they were traveling by car towards a doctor’s visit for their son.

She said a text from another man popped up on her phone, escalating the situation.

In a rather disturbing turn of events, he becomes agitated and attempts to snatch my phone while I’m driving, with Cruz sitting safely in his car seat in the back. This action is appalling enough on its own, but it gets worse. He then starts shouting at me, spewing out a barrage of harsh words.

‘Then he started saying the most despicable things you could ever say to your ex.’

She also said she didn’t buy Jax’s line about turning over a new leaf now.

She stated that it’s disappointing, as he hasn’t evolved. He attempts to portray himself in public as a champion for mental health, yet behind the scenes, he continues with his old behaviors, making excuses, and adopting a victim mindset.

I found myself saying, ‘This isn’t right. I’m constantly facing harsh words and it’s impacting my daily routine significantly.’ I exclaimed, ‘A change needs to occur.’

In my own words, I find relief in acknowledgement: He’s come clean about the truth of the matter. This is what I shared with People magazine.

For the very first time, I am now able to discuss honestly the profound impact of pain he’s inflicted upon our family throughout the years.

She stated: ‘I’ve made every effort to aid him, yet to no avail. I fervently hope that someday he overcomes this addiction entirely, but I harbor doubts. His actions remain concerning, and his recovery strategy appears quite minimal.’
