Amanda Seyfried’s Hilarious Wardrobe Malfunction at the Critics Choice Awards!

Amanda Seyfried recently reminisced about the time when her wardrobe accidentally malfunctioned during an awards ceremony exactly two years back.

In conversation with folks to publicize her latest series on Peacock, titled Long Bright River, the 39-year-old actress shared an embarrassing experience she encountered.

At the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, she casually mentioned that her dress unexpectedly revealed her top, joking, “Earlier, I had my stylist try on this stunning vintage gown as a joke before I put it on.

The dress was a golden Dior number featuring off-shoulder arms, and it had an understated sheer lining in a nude tone around the bust area.

In a moment she’d never forget, she recalled the instance when her dress unexpectedly malfunctioned in front of actor Glen Powell: ‘I was chatting with Glen Powell in the corner by my table, we were exchanging jokes about something. I lifted my arms up and, to my embarrassment, my dress came undone, exposing me.’

The Mean Girls sensation remembered Glen being polite about the blunder.

She shared with the publication that we both let out a scream, and in a chivalrous manner, he shielded me. His face, I’m not sure I saw it clearly… I believe. None of us were prepared for what happened, but that dress had simply lost its charm, she said.

In simpler terms, Seyfried mentioned that the elegant vintage dress she wore, ‘appeared to be held together by threads and it began to disintegrate, detaching from me on the red carpet. In fact, during some interviews, I was discussing how it was coming apart.’

During her conversation with Access Hollywood on the red carpet, she indeed commented on the vintage style as follows: “Yes, it’s quite antique. It tends to tear or break, and I assure you, that’s no joke.

‘It’s like, I’m like tacked…’ she began to say as one of her sleeves slipped down her shoulder.

Later on, Amanda playfully commented, “I guess I’ll shed this old yet lovely dress,” highlighting its age and beauty.

In spite of the fashion blunder, the evening turned out to be particularly unforgettable because the veteran performer won the Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie category for her role in The Dropout.

On her second appearance on stage to collect the Best Limited Series award with the entire cast, Seyfried chose to don a sleek black leather jacket over her stylish outfits as a more conservative fashion choice.

Amanda was active on social media over the weekend, plugging her latest project.

She posted behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram Stories from her Long Bright River press tour, one of the stops being Philadelphia, where the series is set.

In this crime show, the striking brunette takes on the role of Mickey Fitzpatrick, a dedicated police officer patrolling the troubled Kensington district, which has been heavily impacted by the opioid epidemic.

The series, sharing its title with a book penned by author Liz Moore, will make its debut on Peacock on March 13th.
