Halle Bailey’s Ex DDG Fights for Months to See Son Halo, Threatens Court Action
In a now-deleted tweet, Halle Bailey’s former partner, DDG, stated that he’s been trying to spend time with their young son, Halo, for several months.
The duo, who became parents just three days before Christmas 2023, had been a pair for three years prior to their separation in October of the same year.
At first, it seemed like they had struck a friendly coparenting balance, going so far as to celebrate our little one’s first birthday as one big, happy family.
Nevertheless, it seems their relationship has worsened over time, as DDG claims that if he and Halle are not in the best of conditions, she refuses him entry to Halo.
On the platform previously known as Twitter, he expressed his frustration on a recent Friday: “I’ve been battling for months just to spend time with my son… a salute to all the fathers striving to be present. This is tough.
Even though he took down the tweet, he promptly jumped onto his daily live stream, escalating his claims and warning that he’d take this issue to court if necessary, showing no signs of backing down.
DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Halle and DDG for comment.
He asserted that he had no desire to go online because ultimately, it could deeply affect or disturb him, a sentiment related to his experience with Halo.
According to DDG (Darryl Granberry), he’s simply stepping in as a father who’s at a loss right now. He’s been trying to handle the situation since his child was born, nearly from the start.
It seems as though I’ve taken on the role of a caregiver to such an extent that it feels like I’m functioning as a nanny. Unfortunately, my child spends more time with the nanny than with me, and I’m not even familiar with her name.
He emphasized: “It’s fundamentally unfair, buddy, so I find myself compelled to step in and take these actions, but I must proceed in a particular manner,” further explaining that he was now faced with “having to attend court, endure additional hassle when it shouldn’t need to be this way, buddy.
Expressing his regular live streams to his followers, he emphasized, with visible frustration, “Every day, if I don’t get to see my son, I’ll start counting. Today makes one. But I hope I can see him soon. This is the only means I have.
In another part of the conversation, DDG mentioned that due to strained relations with his ex-partner, he hasn’t been able to spend time with his son except in cases where they are on good terms and she is present. If their relationship isn’t amicable, then he doesn’t have access to see him.
He consistently stated: ‘Whenever I visit, he always manages a smile and seems genuinely pleased to see me. However, our meetings are never extended beyond 48 hours. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to spend more than 72 hours in total with my son at a stretch.’
DDG stated: ‘He’s being taken away, and I can’t retrieve him. I’m just not sure what my next move should be. Truthfully, I don’t know what to do right now.’

Back in October, Halle and DDG officially parted ways, though they didn’t share the details behind their separation. Their beloved pet Halo was approximately ten months old at the time.
Next month, their ongoing co-parenting disagreements gained widespread attention as Halle openly criticized DDG for streaming the baby without her prior consent.
She informed everyone that she is currently away and not comfortable with her baby participating in the stream tonight, as previously stated in a tweet which has been removed.
In a recent statement, the actress from The Little Mermaid expressed her disappointment: “I found out unexpectedly that my child was shown to millions without me being informed. As his mother, it pains me deeply not to have been consulted, particularly since I’m currently away.
In a heartfelt outpouring as a woman grappling with intense postpartum struggles, I took to social media to express my hopes for understanding and respecting personal boundaries. It’s a mystery to many just how deep the challenges can run unless one finds themselves in that very situation, and it often takes a breaking point before others truly grasp the extent of it all.

The following day, after facing heavy criticism online, it seemed as if she was retracting her earlier heated comments, conceding that she may have overstepped the mark.
The 24-year-old singer, perhaps, admitted yesterday that she might have overstepped and shouldn’t have shared her concerns here. She acknowledges that Halo is always secure with his father. However, she dislikes learning about her little one’s activities along with the rest of the public.
She faced ongoing criticism for taking her co-parenting disputes into the public arena, but later on, DDG stepped in to support her during a live broadcast.
He expressed that he dislikes it when people criticize or show disapproval towards Halle, stating, “Regardless of whether people believe she is right or wrong, or whether I agree with them or not, I don’t appreciate the negativity directed at her.
The Detroit-native rapper observed: ‘She might be experiencing some mental struggles following the birth of her child, which is hard for me to comprehend as a male.’
