Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight reveals big news about Netflix movie release
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has revealed some big news about the upcoming Netflix movie.
In continuation from the final episode of “Peaky Blinders”, the movie titled “The Immortal Man” will delve into the lives of the Shelby family as they navigate through World War II. Notable actors such as Cillian Murphy, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck will reprise their roles, while Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Jay Lycurgo will make their debut in the series.
During an interview with The Playlist, Knight commended the fans’ devotion to the series and elaborated on his reasons for wishing to carry the narrative forward in a film format.
He explained that his main reason for doing it was simply to satisfy himself. However, there’s another aspect to it, although it may not be the primary motivation: he deeply appreciates the dedicated Peaky fans who have been instrumental in its success.
Even though it was initially made for a streaming platform, Knight announced that viewers can still enjoy the “extraordinarily fantastic” film on the large cinema screen.
He mentioned that while the show wasn’t heavily advertised, word got around and people shared it among themselves. The enthusiasm they display for it makes him wish they could all watch it under one roof, as their interactions have been limited to virtual communication so far, but he finds that satisfactory.
However, my preference is for this to play out on the big screen, allowing audiences to share the experience as they collectively witness the unfolding events.
When inquired about a cinema release for the movie “The Immortal Man“, Knight replied affirmatively, saying, “Indeed, I have just announced it. Therefore, yes.
In a different part of the conversation, the creator hinted at potential additional content based on the series. When asked about it, he replied, “If there’s interest and I have stories to share, then why not?
You can currently stream the gripping series “Peaky Blinders” on both BBC iPlayer and Netflix. Unfortunately, there’s no set release date for “The Immortal Man” as of now.
