Trooko
March 11 at Coconut Club
12:45-2 a.m.
As a music enthusiast who’s had the privilege of working with Grammy-winning producer Trooko on remarkable projects like Beyoncé, M.I.A., Residente, and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “The Hamilton Mixtape,” I’m thrilled to share that he’ll be returning to his roots this year. Instead of creating chart-topping tunes behind the scenes, Trooko will take center stage at La Subcultura’s unforgettable club night.

Blood Club
March 12 at Elysium
8-8:40 p.m.
Originating from Chicago’s South Side, the post-punk romantic group is set to illuminate several nights at SXSW. These festival appearances serve as a sneak peek for their North American No Llores Tour, during which they will traverse through the United States and Mexico, ultimately reaching the Regent Theater in Los Angeles on May 18th.
Their second official SXSW showcase will take place March 15 at Las Perlas from 10-10:40 p.m.

The Dominican-American synth-pop legend is set to give fans a sneak peek at tracks from his upcoming sixth studio album, titled “Georgie,” which honors his deceased father. Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso
March 13 at the Moody Theater
9:35-10:20 p.m.
As a movie critic, I’d say: Last year was a game-changer for us, Argentine MCs Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, as our performance on NPR’s “Tiny Desk” series skyrocketed to become the most-watched episode of 2024. In an interview with De Los this week, Paco Amoroso expressed that it felt like we had cracked the code with “Tiny Desk.” Now, at SXSW, we’re set to deliver an encore performance that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

Oya Baby
March 13 at the Speakeasy Kabaret
10:50-11:05 p.m.
Previously serving as a backup dancer for artists like Pitbull, Bad Bunny, and Flo Rida, the bold Cuban MC known as Oya Baby eventually secured a record deal with Flo Rida’s International Music Group. In her 2022 single “Ride the Stick,” she teamed up with Miami hip-hop legend Trina on an electrifying collaboration.
