R&B Legend D’Wayne Wiggins Passes Away at 64 After Brave Cancer Battle

It is sad to announce that D’Wayne Wiggins, one of the original members of the R&B band Tony! Toni! Toné!, passed away at the age of 64 following a personal fight against bladder cancer.

The heartbreaking news was shared on social media, confirming that the artist had passed away on Friday morning, encompassed by their family and dear ones.

For the last year, he’s been quietly and bravely waging a personal battle against bladder cancer. Despite this ordeal, he has stayed dedicated and continually there for his family, his music, his followers, and his community, as was recently shared with his fans.

In a heartfelt statement, the family of the renowned R&B artist expressed, ‘D’Wayne lived an extraordinary life, and his music and philanthropy touched the lives of countless people worldwide, among them being those in his beloved home city of Oakland, California.’

They contemplated the fact that Wiggins had a strong, burning interest in nurturing up-and-coming artists by offering development and guidance, significantly impacting the early phases of many musicians’ careers.

As a devoted admirer, I implore you all to honor our private space during these trying times. I grieve alongside you, and my heart swells with immense gratitude for the affection and encouragement you’ve showered upon us. We shall carry on together.

As a connoisseur of all things lifestyle-related, I’d be remiss not to mention the meteoric rise of the musically gifted trio that includes myself, my brother Raphael Saadiq (born Charles Ray Wiggins), and our cousin Timothy Christian Riley. We each made a name for ourselves in the realm of guitar playing, production, and composition, but it was our shared journey that brought us to the limelight.
