Eurovision’s 2025 UK entry is FINALLY confirmed live on BBC Radio – and you might recognise them
The UK has officially confirmed its entry for Eurovision 2025.
It’s been made known that the UK band Remember Monday, consisting of members Charlotte, Holly, and Lauren, have been chosen to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025. Their entry song is titled ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’.
This morning, I received fantastic news straight from the band themselves, during their interview on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show. Not only that, but they’ve got a scheduled appearance on The One Show tonight at 7pm! Can’t wait to see them there, as they’re set to premiere the official music video for ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ – it’s going to be epic!
‘We can’t believe what has transpired!’ is exactly how we feel at the moment. Everything seems incredibly unreal; our friendship stretches way back, and we honestly never thought we’d find ourselves in a situation like this,” the band expressed.
As children, if someone asks us what we aspire to become when we grow older, a common response might be “I want to be a pop star.” So, it’s absolutely mind-blowing for us, who are three close friends, to actually have the opportunity to realize this dream.
The group known as Monday is often referred to as a close-knit trio, renowned for their powerful vocal performances and seamlessly harmonious singing.
People might recall seeing them from their stint on “The Voice UK” back in 2019, a competition where they made it to the quarter-finals with some assistance from their coach, Jennifer Hudson. She has remained supportive of the band and even extended an invitation for them to perform on her American talk show last year.
As a gamer, I teamed up with Monday to create the song “What The Hell Just Happened”. This tune was crafted alongside some top-notch Brit Award-nominated tunesmiths: Billen Ted, Thomas Stengaard, and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard. Fun fact: Thomas is also known for penning Denmark’s 2013 Eurovision smash hit “Only Teardrops”.
Previously, the band Monday has shared two extended play (EP) records and twelve singles. Their unique selling point lies in their powerful three-part harmonies and their ability to create thoughtful, sincere, and genuine songs.
The band expressed that they will be the first girl group to represent the UK since 1999, and that this incredible opportunity seems almost unbelievable.
We’re excited to deliver a lot of excitement, entertainment, and something fresh that you might not have seen on the Eurovision stage yet. We’re eager to share this unique experience with all the talented artists from around the globe. Our hope is that everyone watching back home will feel a sense of pride! After all, this is the World Cup of music, and we’ll strive our best to bring victory home!
Eurovision 2025 will take place in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025.
