Jessica Rowe and Daughter Giselle Celebrate Peter Overton’s Health Comeback!

On a humorous note, Jessica Rowe and her teenage daughter Giselle playfully referenced Peter Overton’s recent health incident during a red carpet event last Friday, where they both looked stunning.

The former television host, now podcast creator, who’s 54, shared with Daily Mail Australia that her spouse, with whom she has been married for 21 years, was thrilled to resume his job duties following a prolonged absence.

58-year-old veteran anchor from 9News had to take a break from broadcasting to have surgery on his vocal cords, as doctors found a polyp.

As a die-hard admirer, I can confidently say that Peter exudes excellence in every aspect. He’s simply outstanding, and this was my impression while attending the Marie Claire’s International Women’s Day luncheon with Giselle last Friday.

‘Clearly, it was a frightening experience then. It’s delightful to see him back at work again. He seems to be enjoying his return, and we’re all happy to have him away from home,’ she joked.

A month ago, Overton expressed his fear over the experience as it left him speechless for an entire week due to the surgery.

News of Overton’s shock health scare was broken by his wife Jessica Rowe. 

Rowe uploaded an Instagram picture showing Peter embracing their beloved pet dog, accompanied by a somewhat concerning message as the caption.

She mentioned that Peter doesn’t use Instagram and he has some news to share. Currently, he’s taking an extended break from work.

Following the discovery of a polyp by an ENT specialist on one of his vocal cords, it is now clear why his voice sounded so hoarse during the holiday season.

She mentioned that Peter had undergone surgery and needed to reduce his talking during the healing period, which meant he wouldn’t be able to resume work soon.

She shared that he underwent a surgical procedure, and currently, his healing process involves not speaking temporarily (which is quite tough for him!). Fingers crossed, we hope he returns to Nine News relatively quickly.

Overton described the polyp as ‘like a big blister hanging off’ his vocal cords. 

He confessed that it had given him quite a fright, he added. Three days afterward, they performed the operation and removed it using a laser. He spent a day in the hospital after that, followed by a week of silence at home.

18-year-old Allegra, the oldest child of Rowe, is thriving in her modeling profession at the moment and had the opportunity to appear on the runway during Australia’s Fashion Week last year.

It was actually Giselle, the TV star’s youngest daughter aged 16, who drew attention as she accompanied her mother to the Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy premiere in Sydney during February.

Jessica takes great pride in and wholeheartedly supports her daughters. She played a crucial role in helping her oldest daughter, Allegra, establish herself within the modeling world.

In conversation with the Daily Mail, she mentioned that her youngest child is considering a somewhat unique professional journey instead.

According to Rowe, Giselle was eager to join because she’s deeply invested in leaving a positive impact on the world someday.
